DCgirl, not only is hubby a baseball fanatic but he is one of those guys who LOVES all sports. So I feel your pain girl. As soon as baseball playoffs are done it will be football in our house and then it will be NCAA basketball and then before you know it baseball will be back, trust me I feel your pain. But I have to say I love football myself so I could handle watching it all the time LOL
Not sure if you remember when you me & Anny were first on the menu boards but I used to always LOVE your menu because we have the same tastes and looking at enchiladas, pulled chicken, chicken tenders (homemade!!) sounds yummy!!! And mmmm crab salad!!!
Keep up the great work girl!!
Morning everyone!
i was home alone yesterday evening, and had to shut the game off, I was too stressed out hahah it killed me!!
Qotd: my centre had a very conservative weight loss goal for me, based on statistics and trends seen in other Rny patients. 230 pounds. i have to say that's not where I'd like to end up, I'm hoping to do what many of you have done, keep going until my body stops.
But I am still not quite 6 weeks out, so, I try not to focus on on that yet. I just focus on one day to the next. And noticing all the little changes. (Like yesterday, I had to adjust the seat in the car because I realized my feet couldn't reach the pedals any more!)
menu:
B 1 egg, 1/2 ounce of ham
L: yogurt and raspberries
D: I might try to make a chicken fried rice with cauliflower. Has anyone tried that?
S:protein shake as needed.
calories under 500, protein 60
take care!
When I see WLS centers give such high goals, I really think they are doing their patients a disservice. The conservative goals are based on studies that are from statistics after 5 years out. But if you start at the number that is good for 5 years out... there is a good chance you will be even higher than that.
I remember my first visit at the Bariatric office - sitting down with the Doctor's wife- she is a social worker and works in the office too.... In my mind I couldn't imagine losing all the weight.. and she said to me, "Why wouldn't you want to get down to a normal weight?" Hmmm... why wouldn't I? That really challenged and changed my thinking....

I set a lot of mini-goals along the way and just kept on truckin'... Was I confident at almost 400lbs that I would get here? absolutely not. That is why the mini-goals were so necessary....

230 lbs is where they want you to end up? That does not seem right to me. If yo follow the rules your body will know where to stop.
Yay for adjusting the car seat already that is awesome!
I have never tried the fried rice cauliflower, let me know if you try it and like it.
Hi Daisy,
I rarely post on here, but do read this thread daily so I know that you and your husband are Blue Jays fans and I was thinking of you last night when I watched the game. Being a Cleveland Indians fan is not always easy, but this year they sure are making this fun! Good luck tonight and Go Tribe!!! Also wanted to say that the Blue Jays may have some of the best fans in all of baseball. When we played you in the summer, busloads of fans came into town and we met some really great people and had a fantastic time with them!
Eileen from Cleveland.
