Those of you who do snack between meals. What do you eat/drink if you're in the middle of...
I have a somewhat different lifestyle. I have a farm (that I don't live on), another rental, and my house. I am running in different directions on any day. I picked up two guys to mow weeds at the farm today...Then the tenant's heater didn't go on. So I'm running back and forth. Check on the guys...Mow some weeds while I'm there. Waiting for the heater repair person...Soooo, we need to cut down the tree in the front that is lifting up the sidewalk...Bring out the two chainsaws.
I also volunteer drive for a non profit (drug rehab) organization. They may ask me to drive 80-100 miles (one way) to take a guy or pick up a guy...I am truly out in the boonies!! In CA you always carry extra water.
I am mostly retired. I ride my bicycle a lot. I'll run my errands on the bike...Pay my bills, doctor, dentist, post office. I'll get a call from my wife or someone else and get diverted from my plans...Pick up a med here, drop by there. Most days it's easy and planned out. Other days it's like herding cats!! On all my rides I do know where the public restrooms and water fountains are. But when I feel I need some extra energy...It's right there in my pocket. Brian
I'm like many and eating three small meals and two small snacks a day. I'm also out and about quite a bit and often in the middle of a field somewhere painting. My go to "travel" foods are: Beef jerky (either homemade or store bought), mixed nuts, cheese sticks, quest bars (normally I only eat about 1/4 of one at a time). I do keep a quest bar in my backpack but don't keep anything in the car excep****er bottles. I keep a case of water bottles in the trunk. I use the vitamin patches and then two calcium tablets that I eat after breakfast and after lunch, so I also keep some of the calcium tablets in a tiny box in my backpack as well in case I get caught out at lunch time.
Those tuna & salmon pouches are great.
Nuts, jerky, I make "cookies" out of Quest bars (better portion control) http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2015/07/quest -protein-bar-cookies.html
