Stepmother sick again today. She finally agreed to go to the doctor - tomorrow. ARRRGGGH. I'm here to see my father who's in hospice, but I feel bad when I leave her for too long because she's sick, too. This is awful. At least my sister is flying down next weekend so one of us can tend to one and one to the other. But we both want to be with my father since it's almost certainly the last time we'll see him. Why does she have to be sick NOW????? And why does she refuse to call a doctor???

Good Morning Menu Peeps! Scale up this morning after Chilifest and lots of chili tasting. Boo....
Still trying to figure out this maintenance and what works for me.... 2 new things - tried some overnight Pumpkin Oats this AM. Want to try and add some good fiber/carbs to my diet to keep things more regular. Even with my daily Miralax it doesn't always happen as it should. Also found some Sprouted grain bread at Aldi's yesterday- 60 calories a slice. Small slices but that is OK. I like to have bread in the freezer for an occasional slice of toast or something. I have given up on low carb bread...always tastes rotten. Low carb wraps and pita breads seem fine, but regular sliced bread? nope.So we will see if I can balance some carbs in there or not....
1: Coffee latte with Fairlife milk and miralax.
Overnight Pumpkin Oats (1/3c oats, 1/3c cashew milk, 1/4 cup Oikos triple zero vanilla greek yogurt, 2-3 tbsp pumpkin, 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1/2tsp pumpkin pie spice, dash vanilla, dash morton lite salt) in the morning I added sweetener
2: Chicken salad
3: premier protein (out)
4: Sprouted bread and peanut butter
5: Steak, butternut squash
6: Chocolate chai latte, Sweetened ricotta
ex: 21-day-fix -- Done!

The problem with toast is it requires a loaf of bread to be in the house. Which has many slices in it. I wish there was someplace you could just buy 2 slices of bread. I love toast. I miss toast. I think I could have a problem with toast....we will see. Cold weather=toast. Yeah...mushy cold oats. Not so good....I made them again, this time with some low carb hot cereal crap I bought...but I figure I will try heating them. I have to stop buying low carb substitutes. Except for pita and wraps which I seem to be able to handle I guess because I wouldn't even eat the real ones on a regular basis.......
Cold weather = comfort food. that is a problem too...

Mushy oats went in the trash...
the rest of the bread went in the trash... all the bread stockpile in my freezer went in the trash.... Too dangerous when my head isn't on straight....
Low carb snacks went in the trash, low carb hot cereal substitute went in the trash... I have very expensive trash today....
