Mine was all shakes.

6'3" tall, male.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.

Mine was three shakes. When I got Hungary I was allowed shredded lettuce with diced peppers and onion and balsamic vinegar. It was filling but no cards.  It's important to shrink liver Steve

Veggies have carbs so it is likely you are not getting into ketosis.  Our pre op prep is liquid only.  I am only day 2 of liquid diet and am hungry all the time despite getting plenty of calories with my shakes.  I am hoping after the 3 days it usually takes to reach ketosis that I will feel better.

I was 3 weeks of Otifast.  No veggies were allowed.

I have vanilla and rice/almond milk shakes, unjury chicken broth with some milk, tomato juice and water. Seems like I am always thirsty. Your fighting head hunger. This may be hard but we can do it.

 

My surgery is the 21st. All set ready to go. Then I get a bill for thousands of dollars saying all the Psychiatric visits are my responsibility.  Provider billed medical insurance they denied. Finally got to bill behavioral health insurance and they denied. I could cry. I am not going to stop having the surgery. But sure wish these bills would disappear.  Any suggestion, words of comfort ?

I only had to do a week, but honestly I would have killed for raw veggies on my pre-op diet.  I had 4 protein shakes and as much broth as I wanted, no solids at all and I struggled hard for the first few days.  By day 4 I felt good and it got easier.  I hope it gets easier for you, I remember how much it sucked early out.  I had a horrible headache from carb withdrawal for 3 days.  

I know it sucks, and I know me saying "hang in there" is going to be annoying.  I remember.  But seriously, it's so worth it.  The pay off is HUGE for this one, stay strong.
