What's on your Menu today (PHOTO FRIDAY) RNYers?
I'm loving all the pictures! All very inspiring to me.
QOTD: I'm three weeks post op today so I'm eating extremely slow! I had a lap band before this so I've been a slow eater for many years.

Daisy, your dogs are so sweet And you look great in that dress! Wowza, woman!
Weekend...today running down to Norman to put out Open House signs, coming home and probably doing house things. Saturday, not much planned, and Sunday off to the Open House from 1-4. I need to cook a BUNCH of meat and prepackage it, freeze some... I need more meat to help me make better choices.
QOTD: I thought I ate slow prior to surgery... always the last one finished at dinner... but I've had to slow it down even more. I'm definitely eating at a snail's pace now. Chewing takes me a long time, and I had issues with getting dense protein stuck for the longest damn time, I still get a heavy feeling if I don't chew enough...
I love Photo Friday's! Love seeing everyone, and all the beautiful smiles!
B: Premier Protein
L: Beef Jerkey (I measured out 1 serving, I don't think I'll be eating that much) Syntrax Apple Ectasy protein drink (out running around at lunch time)
D: Chickent thighs TBD how I cook them.
S: the rest of that beef jerkey most likely
My first picture is one I took of me and the kids to send to my moms new phone as a test...
The second one is today. I've had this jacket since I first started here - hanging on the hook in my office. They gave me an XL, ladies cut... I could barley get it on, let alone wear it (I mean the arms were tight, and no way it was going around the girls and my belly)... today, I'm wearing it, and it's so cute!

congrats on getting that jacket on!
Yesterday, when I was walking into my support group, my skirt fell off my waist. It was pretty embarrassing. I think one person in the car and her daughter saw. caught a lovely site of my blue undies from the back, they did. Its both a good and embarrassing problem to have, lol

went to Aqua Zumba this morning, so I'm getting a late start heading out to the nursing home. I'll read through this later (my father usually naps in the afternoon!)
QOTD: I wouldn't say I shovel my food in, but I eat faster than I probably should. Mostly because I'm often on my way out the door! I need to work on this, though...
16 months out:
B: L&F Greek coconut vanilla yogurt with added protein powder, 10 blueberries
S: protein shake, coffee with half & half
L: 1 cup cottage cheese, baby carrots
D: probably a cup of turkey chili (again!) and a little avocado (I had 1-2 T of avocado last night along with my chili - between the fat from the avocado and the fiber & protein from the chili, I felt full all night!!)
Probably another Greek yogurt or a Babybel or two if I can afford the calories
Ex: an hour of Aqua Zumba
Good morning! Stormy Friday here in the Pacific Northwest.
QOTD: I still eat waay too fast. Trying to remember and I use a small spoon but it is a hard habit to break. I get full before I realize and am then very uncomfortable for a while. I also still have trouble with timing liquids... usually eat before 30 minutes and then am so thirsty I cant wait another 30 afterwards. Working on it. I think my habit comes mainly from eating fast food in my car going places... and usually because I did not want anyone to know what or how much I had eaten. So I just ahovelled it in.
B: Click powder with Fairlife, pumpkin yogurt
L: Babybel cheese, 7 grapes
D: 1 egg w/3 T. egg whites, 1 sl bacon
S: choc protein pudding, Premier shake if needed
Totals: 685 cals 81 protein 50 carbs
I bought the Caramel Fudge Pretzel yogurt and was SO happy. This morning I realized that I am still on a soft diet and those things cannot be mashed with a fork. ****
Following is a (not very professional) pic of me 3-1/2 weeks after surgery and last day in the hospital. That would be the 40-lb neck loss.
Good morning. Late post for me, court this AM. For the past few days I've had zero appetite. It was 2:00 before a single bite of food passed my lips yesterday and the only reason I gave in at that point was because I had signed up for a spin class and knew if I didn't eat something, I'd pass out. Since I wear clip in shoes the thought of passing out and breaking both ankles (yes, I've seen it happen. Just one of the many bizzare cases that has crossed my desk) was enough to get me to eat. I feel the same way today. I have a plate with 3 oz of turkey sitting next to me. Haven't had a single piece. ugh. Must Eat. What else . . . oh, I had to do a bone density scan. My 3 month labs showed my parathyroid hormone was high, and according to my surgeon, that is an indication that my body may being trying to leech calcium from my bones (which doesn't make me happy since I'm fanatical about supplements . . . particularly since my conversion.) I have a repeat blood test next month to check for free calcium. I also asked him to recheck my ferritin levels since my numbers have dropped from 202 to 136 in 5 months. Thanks to Grim and everyone else here, I know this is something I need to keep on top of. I'm lucky that my surgeon works with me and agrees that we need to be proactive. That's about it for me, other than Go Dodgers!!!!!!!
DQOTD: It depends on the day. I typically take between 20-30 minutes to eat a meal. Some days, though, I'm like a vacuum and am finished in the blink of an eye. During the week, I eat by the clock but on the weekends, I typically wait until hungry, which throws everything off, particularly know with my food aversion. It should be an interesting weekend.
My plan:
B: deli turkey 3 oz
L: Caesar salad with grilled salmon or grilled chicken (lunch with my cousin)
D: Hamburger with grilled onions, crumbled blue cheese and a lactaid pill
S: Almonds, sliced roast beef and a diet hot chocolate with a splash of coffee (too lazy for starbucks this morning)
