It seriously crazy the advice the NUTS are giving. 3oz at 2 weeks post op???????? NO, NO, NO. SOOOOOO glad you checked in here with us. I am 3 yrs post op and some days I can only fit 3 oz of dense protein. That is such bad advise on the NUTS part.
Good looking menu. What are your stats Karen? Are you using MFP?

YES more protein for sure. And if you can find a shake that you can make with water instead of milk that will save you on the calories but get your protein up. A lot of the Syntrax Nectar protein powders can be mixed with water, like the Roadside Lemonade one.
And fat for post WLS people is good, bacon is good. Don't worry about your fat content. You will find, if you have not already that going to the bathroom #2 is difficult for us due to the high protein low fat diet we all eat. So fat such as bacon is great, it will help you go to the bathroom.
So 500 calories, great, 46 protein - need to get a minimum of 60, better to try 75 and awesome on the carbs!!!! And don't even worry about the fat. Bacon is good!
Glad you didn't listen! 3oz at 2 weeks could have wrecked havoc. Love that you have bacon as a snack. Yes to bacon!

Chicken: amazing isn't it. I am measuring my chicken and cannot get more than two ounces in EVER. And then I am so incredibly full I could not imagine eating anything else.
And... BACON!!! I have trouble eating every other meat except bacon. Love Love Love.
Chicken is still hard for me...
Bacon is like the amazing meat... I've never gotten stuck on bacon!

Hi- today is a good day.
I made it 2.5 miles running yesterday. Was worried about being able to complete a 5k this soon after GB surgery so really happy about that. Plus, i ran my fastest mile yesterday ever! Looking forward to Sunday.
QOTD: the carbs for sure, I was early out eating cream of wheat because the 'center' said it was ok on the listing. i came on here and asked about it and you vets told me not to do it, it would slow my weight loss. Was very happy for that (though not at the time because... carbs). Also- I was on a oil filled vit D2 prescription and was unaware that it was doing me no good that i needed a dry D3. that was good to learn. oh and with vitamins, i was only taking in 1000 calcium citrate per day, someone mentioned min is 1500 so I bumped up to 3 per day recently.
last night we had leftover roast and I made green beans and zuchinni and onions in instant pot. it was yummy. I had a small pouch day yesterday. It made me happy and my head cooperated!!
It looks like I will be coming to NY first week NOV so if anyone wants a meetup I would LOVE it! I will be flying in Nov 2nd through Nov 5. DH will be coming with, it will be a mini vacation. Also never been here except airport (laguardia) once so I would love some site shout outs and restaurant shout outs also!
