What's on the Menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
Rather than an electric blanket, people seem to swear by heated mattress pads. You can get dual controls, for you and Arun. I've already started looking into it....

Morning Daisy. I love fall too. No more heat!
QOTD. I was surprised by the cluelessness of the NUTS. They have never walked in our shoes, and just don't get it. They advocate 1200 calories for new post ops, and things like mashed potatoes, cream of wheat, toast, and CRACKERS. Unbelievable.

Could not agree more with your answer Grim!! OMG I guess we call them NUTS for a reason. My Centre said the same EXACT thing... 1200 calories, mashed potatoes, crackers, the whole nine yard. I have totally given up on listening to the advice of my Centre. I have a 3 year follow up booked for end of November, I am thinking of going just so I can tell the NUT and Nurse off and basically say "thanks for nothing".
Good Thursday morning menu gang!! It is freezing here again. I had to start wearing layers. 40's in the morning and 70's in the afternoons. Hope you are feeling better Daisy!
QOTD- My NUT wants me to eat 1 - 1/2 cup of protein, 1/2 - 1/4 cup of vegetable and 1/4 cup of starch at each meal. They never say anything about ounces or carb count. And calories are 1200-1500 a day. I only had a one week liquid phase and then went to puréed for a week. Then regular food. If it weren't for this site and great people giving their advice there's no doubt my weight loss would not have been this great. They don't push vitamins either. Heck they didn't even set a goal weight for me.
Time since surgery 7 months 176.6

S- 1 piece of bacon
I hope everyone has a fantabulous day!!

We have the same weather DG, 40s in the AM and supposed to go up to the 70s this afternoon, and yes I too am COLD. Welcome to post WLS life my dear!
Oh my... your NUT said 1.5 CUPS of protein. Is she crazy? Plus the veggies plus the starch? And they don't push vitamins. Wow its like they got their money after they did surgery on you and bye bye little birdie you are on your own! That actually makes me mad!!! I am so glad you found us here too, clearly you are taking the advice of the vets and those that have taken this journey before you as you are hugely successful in your weight loss.
Good looking Menu girl! Have an awesome day!
