What's on your Menu Today (Wednesday) RNYers?
I just substitute a sweetener called Swerve for the sugar and use an almond flour crust. Last year I actually used an adapted recipe of whipped shortbread ( using almond flour ) for the crust. I found the almond flour shortbread crust wasn't quite as heavy as other recipes for an almond flour crust.
I found a 3 lb bag of Bob's Red Mill super finely ground almond flour at Sam's...it was $12.99 I think. That's a great price for it. The finer the grind...the better the result in baked goods.
There are a ton of low carb cheesecake ( pumpkin and other varieties) recipes online.
I would just caution you to still severely limit your consumption even though it's LCSF. It's crazy high in calories, and you're still in your losing phase. I don't want you to get derailed.

You beat me to it Audrey, I was going to caution Kaksie as well that she does not need to be making cheesecake or having cheesecake in her house right now as she is still losing.
Karen its a slippery slope my friend... you know just like the protein bars, once you start it is so hard to stop. Just concentrate on your high protein, low carb! If you really feel you need a treat, make something that is individual servings so you don't have a whole cake or a whole pie in your house tempting you!

Thanks Audrey for the healing vibes!
WOW your Pumpkin cheesecake sounds wonderful!! I love all things pumpkin and all things cheesecake so yup it sounds amazing!
Oh I totally forgot about crescent rolls! I have not had one of those in years, probably a good thing, pre surgery I could eat the whole package!! I love green beans and added bacon & onions sounds even better!
I love turkey burgers, and I always put cranberry goat cheese on mine but bacon & cheese sounds even better ha ha I do love leftovers, especially eating yesterdays dinner for breakfast the next day!
I have not tried bacon jam, but I am pretty sure I would love it. Yes Bacon rocks and anyone who says different needs an intervention! LOL LOL
Have an awesome day!
Morning Daisy! Thanks for the early start.
QOTD. The last few years I have been hosting Thanksgiving, taking over for friends that had done it for several years before that. I've had as many as 15 one year.
My first Thanksgiving was three months postop, so I ate the same things as every other day. My 2nd Thanksgiving was after I had been at goal for a while. I refer to the major holidays -- Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter -- as my mashed potato and corn holidays. Hey, I eat meat every other day of the year. So I go Starch Crazy for those three days. And boy, is it good.

I bet you are an awesome host Grim! If you had not said these holidays were your "mashed potato & corn" holidays I figured you would have served ribeye for appetizers, ribeye for dinner and candied bacon for dessert LOL LOL
Although I can't partake in the mashed potatoes (allergy) I do love corn, slathered with butter and salt! YUM!
I ALWAYS have a rib roast, and either a ham or turkey. Most people only have those things on holidays and special occasions. For me, it's every day. But the mashed potatoes and corn are a real rarity for me since surgery.
Slathered with butter and salt should be a given. The more the better!

Ohhhh.....fresh corn with butter and salt is the best. I had to break up with corn after surgery. At times, I still miss being able to have some, but it makes me violently ill, so I know I can't have it.

Good morning menu gang!! Glad you started us off Daisy and hopefully you will be 100 percent in no time!! SO my mama bought me a new outfit last night and the pants are a size 12 and a Medium shirt. The pants are a little loose. I tried them on fully believing they would get stuck on my legs and I would not be able to get them over my thighs. Crazy how my mind still sees a 26/28 pants size.
QOTD- I cook for 30-35 people every Thanksgiving. I have it at my house that way I can be in control lol. I make every dish known to man. I will eat the turkey, gravy and green beans. I can do without the rest of it and not be tempted at all. This year I have been getting different text requesting different desserts. So far I am at a total of 7 different desserts. I wouldnt have it any other way I love family time!

DG, you are doing so amazing on your weight loss. You are dropping pounds daily. CONGRATS!
Oh so awesome on new outfits, how sweet of your Mama! And that is super exciting that you pretty much skipped size 12s!!! I have to tell you that at 3 years post op I still tend to go to the plus size section of the store, its like I am on autopilot. Its so weird. In my opinion, it takes a while to get our heads to catch up with the weight loss, if it ever does?
WOWZERS on hosting 30-35 people for TG! You are one of those women that I sit back and envy. I am not sure if I am that organized to cook for that many people, have all the dishes come out hot and ready at the same time. Phew! You are super MOM! 7 Desserts!!!! You are so lucky you are not temped, desserts are my down fall/slippery slope food, I would have a hard time resisting! ha ha
As for your dinner I love "Mexican" flavoured anything, I might have to make taco's this weekend for hubby and I!
Keep up the awesome work my friend!
