What's on your Menu Today (Wednesday) RNYers?
So a couple of weeks ago my MIL made a berry cobbler and I cheated and took a couple of bites. Not proud! She makes the best in the world and just this last spring we had so much fun picking all the berries. I just had to try it! Anyway, 5 mins later it hit me and I had to go to the bathroom! I never had any pain or sweats but I spent quite a bit of time in the bathroom that whole night. I think I dumped! And I had the VGS not RNY. It doesn't bother me because sweets are not my problem but I was surprised.

I'm sorry to hear you are still under the weather Daisy. Praying you get to feeling better soon. A brisk morning here in Illinois today and Lily and I have our three plus miles in already. I have a busy day so had to start early. We got back about 6 pm last night so today I get to do laundry from our days away. We went to Lincoln City,Indiana and saw Abe Lincolns boyhood home. Lily and I had a wonderful walk around their beautiful lake. We also went to Vincennes Indiana to see the George Rogers Clark national memorial but it was closed for Columbus Day. Then Monday evening and yesterday we were in Nashville Indiana a neat little artist colony with lots of really neat tiny shops. Very neat place and we walked all over before we headed home. I think we all had a great time. Post op 4 years 11/2 moths and weight at 118 this morning. Here's the food B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz pork chops 1/2 c limassol beans D 31/2 oz meatballs with sauce 1/2 c lettuce salad S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar . Have a great day everyone and make some amazing choices !

Your trips sound so amazing Karen. I am so thrilled you and your hubby and Lily are enjoying your retirement and getting out and seeing the world, its wonderful.
I think you might be the only person I have ever heard of liking Lima Beans Karen, me personally YUK!
How much protein do you add to your oatmeal? I just used a "scoop" in mine this morning, it gives it a weird texture but it tasted fine.
Have an awesome day my friend!
GM Daisy, hope you start feeling better quickly!
QOTD: it just depends, last year I had Thanksgiving at my house, but am not volunteering this year, just not feeling it. I will likely stick to turkey and have a bit of stuff like mp, stuffing, green beans and corn. I was already trying to lose last Thanksgiving, so I don't anticipate it being a ton different except having less space in my pouch.
B- 1/2 of sausage egg mcmuffin, no mcmuffin. Terrible choice for protein and taste, funny they used to taste so good. Blech.
L- 8 grilled chick fila nuggets
D- ribs
Totals- Cals- 507, protein is like 55, I will have to add something to amp it up, but not feeling it right now.

OMG Chassiby, I used to LOVE McD's egg mcmuffin, pre surgery I could eat two of them EASY, now they are just gross. And notice how they seem really really small now? I make a "homemade" version of them on weekends for hubby and I eat mine open face no english muffin, for sure mine are way better than McDs LOL
Do you eat snacks? I notice you only have B, L, D on today's menu. If you do eat snacks and need more protein a huge hit of protein and decent calorie is shrimp and ****tail sauce. Cheese strings are bad either, just an idea
Daisy, I typically do some kind of snack, usually during the workday. I've just been so bummed about my job lately that I haven't made adequate preparations, plus trying to keep cals under 700 to boost loss. I oftentimes do shrimp for lunch, or babybel cheese for a snack.

QOTD: We usually have it at my sister's house because hers is more conducive to such things, but I volunteer to do most of the cooking because no one else in my family can cook worth a damn (although don't tell them I said that!!). Last year I ate mostly turkey and veggies. I had maybe a tablespoon of stuffing and sweet potato casserole, and pumpkin yogurt for dessert instead of pumpkin pie.
my brother left for 10 days for some kind of musical thing (he's a professional musician and luthier), so I'm moving over to my stepmother's this morning for the duration. So eating for the next 10 days is a bit up in the air, but I'll volunteer to do the cooking so I can control it...
16 months out:
B: L&F Greek coconut vanilla yogurt with added protein powder, fresh raspberries, 1 T Kashi Crunch granola
S: coffee with half & half, protein shake
L: not sure. We're headed out to the nursing home to see my father. I have cottage cheese and baby carrots out there in the resident refrigerator, but my stepmother may want to go out somewhere for lunch
D: probably leftover turkey chili or beef fajitas (meat & veggies only)
probably another Greek yogurt if I can afford the calories
