What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
on 10/11/16 7:24 am
Hi, Yep, I'm a feisty Leo. It fits, even though I don't believe in it at all. I read my horoscopes in the paper for fun, but I never take them seriously.
My surgeon has a support group every Wednesday at 6pm. They rotate weekly between groups for everyone (including pre-ops); post ops only; 1year + post op; and a monthly exercise group. The only meeting I've liked are the 1 year+ post op groups, but they recently changed them to just post op. I find those ones the most annoying. They are filled with people who are 3 months out and think they know everything. I usually want to smack someone by the time I leave (see, feisty Leo!)...
I'm working from home today! I have SEVEN phone meetings, so it seemed a little stupid to drive for two hours each way just to sit on the phone. I'm hoping it keeps my eating in check too. I've liked my scale numbers the last few days. I'm motivated to keep up the low calories! Grim and I already went for a nice long walk this morning, too :)
B: Fit Frappe Espresso & babybel
S: Chobani Flip Blueberry
L: Organic Protein Chocolate shake
S: tuna and Balsamic dressing

- High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
- High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
- Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
- Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
- Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)
I'm a Gemini, but I really don't know what that's supposed to mean. I think it's all hokum.
My local support group used to be great. There are two main hospitals, and they used to have two, 2-hour meetings each month. They were all just support. Now, they have 1, 1-hour meeting at each hospital, every other month. And they have defined topics. I skipped the one on "Getting pregnant after WLS," and stopped going to the protein Shake Taste Tests. They have a clothing sw, but it is all women, and all really large sizes. No thanks.
I stopped going when it became clear that one of the women that went regularly planned on hanging me upside down in her closet.
6'3" tall, male.

qotd#1: Libra. Even though I don't believe in it, my horoscope is weirdly accurate the vast majority of the time...
qotd#2: my clinic has weekly meetings, which I have not attended yet... they also have a weekly walking group, which I have also not attended... I should check them out. But mostly I rely on OH. Glad you're here!
had a great thanksgiving weekend, but now I'm dealing with a case of the head hungers for the past day and half. I'm sure it's a combo of moving on to more solid type foods, and being around all the holiday goodness... it's been a little tricky to shake off.
B: protein shake
L: meat of some kind with a bit of leftover braised cabbage
D: think I'll try fish
S: deli meat, hummus, artichoke heart , cheddar cheese, protein shake if needed
calories under 500, at least 60 protein.
hope everyone has a great day!
Nice pick up line, AV! I'm a Cancer and I used to know what this means but I don't anymore. I probably needed to know it back when I was a 20 year old, lol. 48 yo married woman, I don't need it so much.
Btw, has anyone noticed increased interest from men after weight loss? My neighbor (blech) is flirting with me!

Maybe I got used to not being noticed by men, or I wouldn't find it so strange to see men flirt. I'm 48 and have gray hair, so wth?
My neighbor is flirting with me and offering me rides and such. Very creepy. I'm not sure whether to tell my husband or not. Neighbor relationships are dicey and I don't want dh pissed at the neighbor, when I think I can handle it. What would you do?
