What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
No support groups for me. The one through my surgeon is (1) at an inconvenient time; and (2) run by the psych in his practice, or I should say, by one of the psych fellows. We had to attend 2 support group meetings before we were presented to the group for approval (everyone in the practice has to agree that you're a good candidate for WLS or you don't even get submitted to insurance) and I wasn't all that impressed. The woman running my last meeting made comments like "for best success, I recommend that you avoid all social situations that involve food for the first 6 mos to a year." That advice annoyed me to no end. I think part of this process is learning how to navigate social situations and, yes, restaurants in a way that further your goals. Don't teach me to avoid, teach me how to make good choices. Anyway, you guys are my main support and I've become friendly with a few of my surgeon's other patients. We are in touch by email and text and I know I can always turn to them (and you all!!) if I feel myself going off the rails.
blerg- yes i was stalking this post, just waiting.
last night was monthly support group. it was strange, i was the smallest person there. really, really weird that for the first time, i was the smallest in the room. AND DH came with me for the first time!! it was great!
today's plan- work, meet someone real quick after work, then come home and cook some food- i have no cooked fresh meat in fridge. Been eating the hillshire farms grilled chicken for 120 cal, egg whites, proper veg. so i really need to cook up some meats to have more variety.

OK, so I take a hotdog, cut it up, put chili over it, cheese and onions... heat it up in a ramekin and squirt some mustard on top when it's warm and ready to go... is that a chili dog casserole (low carb style)??
If so, it's heaven in a bowl... just sayin'
