What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
taking a break from the nursing home today. Dealing with someone with severe dementia is a challenge and exhausting - I just need a day to myself before I'm back at it again!
QOTD1: Leo!
QOTD2: There are two bariatric clinics in my city, and I occasionally (but not often) go to the support groups of both (neither seems to care if you had WLS somewhere else). They're both 1/2 topic, 1/2 group support. The topics at this point out are rarely of interest - they're about stuff that would have been helpful as a pre-op or early out, but not now - or they're about things that don't really apply to my situation, like handling stress eating (which I really never had - I was more a volume eater because I loved food). As far as the group support part, I feel somewhat useful to pre-ops and early-outs, so I go if/when I can. It's my way to give back, I guess....
B: Light & Fit vanilla coconut Greek yogurt with added protein powder, 12 raspberries, 1 T Kashi Crunch granola (i.e, a yogurt parfait!!!)
S: coffee with half & half, protein shake
L: ??? I have a protein bar with me if needed
D: meeting my brother at a restaurant. I'm going to order the grilled mahi-mahi tacos without the tortillas. If they can't accommodate that, then I'll just eat the innards
probably another Greek yogurt somewhere in there
good morning. My menu is kind of up in the air today. We have a work luncheon for clients today and I have no clue what they're serving. I'm still trying to do a modified AMAW-C to get back on track. Yesterday could have gone better. I really just need to either dump my snacks (somersaults in particular) or portion at home so I don't have the package just sitting in my desk drawer. I have no control the past few days. You know you have a problem when your mind says "dump the bag" but you can't bring yourself to do it. Hello, my name is Stacy and I'm addicted to somersaults . . .
KQOTD - I'm a Leo. Leo traits are Confident, Ambitious, Generous, Loyal and Encouraging. Other than the confident, which I try to work on every day, this fits me to a tee!
Even though it's late and I'm not likely to get many responses, I'm going to throw a SQOTD out there. So, I ordered a drink from Starbucks this morning and when I picked it up, it felt like the cup was half empty. For all you S'Bucks drinkers, it felt (and looked when I took the lid off) like a cappuccino instead of a latte (too much foam) Even though they say they'll remake your drink if you're not happy, I didn't say anything. Yet, it's been bothering me all morning. I didn't pay for foam, and they should have to make the drink correctly. My question is, do you guys say something if you order something and it doesn't come out the way you want it, or would you prefer not to rock the boat. I'm supremely annoyed at myself for not saying anything. So are you rock the boat'ers or the suffer in silence type!!
Here's my plan. No totals since lunch is totally up in the air:
B: 3.03 oz sliced turkey
L: ???????
D: NY Strip steak and some kind of veggie
S: Deli roast beef (2.93 oz); skinny foam (oh, I mean skinny latte), almonds
No totals, but eyeballing it, it will definitely be under 900 cal and at leat 80g protein.
