Protein
I was told that the 60 is a goal, work towards it if you can't make it. Just so you know - 28 gms is an ounce. So you are about 1/2 ounce low. If you stay low for a long time- your body will canabalize its own lean muscle mass, which will make it harder to lose weight in the future. So keep working on getting to the 60gms, don;t eat other stuff (veggies, carbs****il you get all your protein in. I still use a shake once in awhile if I get rushed so I get the needed protein.
Keep working on it - FYI for plastics they want you at 100gm protein because it helps the healing.

You really need to get 60g a day at 5 weeks as a minimum. It is important.
I had a protein drink or shake every morning and made sure it had 30g of protein in it.
2 more meals with 2 1/2oz meat or 3 more meals with 2 oz meat will get you to 60.
You can do this!

Hey surgery buddy. I have trouble sometimes. Learning to have at least one protein shake, (30 grams), maybe a greek yogurt (12-15 grams) and then some cheese / cottage cheese (8-13 grams). Almost to 60 without adding meat (I don't tolerate meat well yet). A poached egg adds another 6 grams.
I also made up a sugar free fat free pudding mix with fairlife high orotein milk and cottage cheese, blended. Can get 8 grams protein from a serving. One of these might help...
It's important to get your protein in. I mean if you don't get it every single day it's not the end of the world but it sounds like you're not hitting it pretty often which could be an issue. I would work at it very hard at this point to get your protein in and count it every day to get over 60, work on eating some high protein yogurt (the low sugar kind obviously) or adding protein powder to stuff or doing a protein shake. I know you're early out which is when it's hardest but it's also important then.
