What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
?Good morning.
Again feeling crappy...my own fault. Eating too fast last night. Hunting season has begun so Jim is busy at the shop butchering deer. I am spending alot of time alone. Pity party, table for one!!
Time out from surgery: 1 month
QOTD: Apple crisp vs Pumpkin pie?? Can't pick just one!

I'm off today- so is hubby. The kids have school-- guess we'll be 'folding laundry' at some point today ;-)
weekend was busy but good- typical stuff- grocery shopping(totally blew my budget BTW), laundry, cleaning. I've had to fight the urge to shop tooth and nail all weekend. I have things in so many online carts. I did buy/order things the kids need/wanted on amazon and a new pair of running sneakers for me. But if bought what's in all my carts/wishlists- Oyy-- the damage I'd do. This afternoon I have to meet with my sons counselor to apply for high schools. Where does the time go???
Qotd: apple. Most things I that ate like pumpkin are bad for you..muffins, pies. Lest you can just eat an apple-- can't take a bite out a pumpkin and just eat it
17 months since surgery- tossing in my progress pic below- my surgeon's office wanted an updated one so I thought I'd share...

So my face can't be seen in the surgery day pic, and is only partially seen in the current pic-- yet I look much happier? Interesting how excess weight drives the perception we are unhappy.
For the record- I was no less happier then than I am now. If I had to describe just how I felt after snapping that surgery day pic-- it's confused, cause my mind didn't see what the camera did.

I have a big old smile in my before picture... I distinctly remember seeing a lot of before pics with people not smiling, versus their after picture of them smiling. I didn't want to look like an unhappy fat chick (not that I'm saying you do, just my perception of so many other people's pictures).
But I'm with ya on the brain thing.... I look at that before picture now, and I'm like damn girl, you got fat! But at the time, I didn't see that... now that I'm losing, I am not sure what I think of my body at the moment... I still feel like the same person in the before picture, happy and outgoing, but not necessarily any happier... or not a lot thinner - no matter what the scale says. Sigh.
