What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Think of all the steps you got in Saturday.... time goes faster when you are busy at work...
QOTD: Hard choice....hmmmm I am going to go with Pumpkin. When I think 'special treat' I would love some pumpkin granola, pumpkin pie, pumpkin scone.... although as someone said on here one time- I would never throw anything apple out of my mouth...LOL
Raspberry on the LC cheese sounds yummy...
Ever have a day of meal when nothing tastes good? I was having that last night, and always wants to make me eat more- because the thing I just ate didn't hit the 'Go' buttion on the taste buds....
I think we should be transparent here as that is what this is about, amirite? I am in maintenance and trying to figure out the balance of allowing some carbs and what the hell do I eat to actually maintain??? It is funny I feel less liberty to eat carbs now then I did sometimes while losing- I would lose anyway. Well over the weekend between Target and Grocery Store I someone accumulated (they jumped into my cart) more than several bags of crunchy stuff: Skinny popcorn, wasabi ranch crispy pea snaps, pork rinds, BBQ popchips... as well as Klondike no-sugar-added crunch ice cream bars.
I don't bring in skinny cow ice cream sandwiches home because I know I eat them in 2-3 days. Can you say slider food? So my messed up thinking sees the Klondike bars are on sale and I say "I don't like these as much as skinny cow, so I can control myself with them" Ha! Is that a load of bull?? or what? So I bought them... ate 2 last night. Realized it in no way made me full, and I could have easily eaten 2 more... so in the sink the remainder went to a pot of ho****er to melt them.... SF or not can't do ice cream in my home. There is a place by me that has the Only 8 frozen yogurt (8 calories an ounce) - while I don't find this effects the scale when I have it- again can't control myself and can sometimes go too often or get a too large a size because it is low calorie and slides right down.... Ice cream. Born and raised on ice cream as the dessert of choice. ugh.
1: Coffee latte- fairlife milk and miralax, scrambled eggs and cheese
2: Pear, goat cheese, pecan salad with grilled chicken
3: Chicken parm. (low carb style) with spaghetti squash
Snacks: TBD
My new nighttime comfort food: Chocolate chai latte: Skinny Chocolate Chai latte I make it with Silk Cashew milk (25 calories a cup) with a splash of half and half to give it some creaminess, also use more tea... because I like a large drink. The vanilla creme stevia is ridiculously expensive- so I use a splash of vanilla extract and sweetener.
EX: 21 day fix- finished. Lackluster at best but done.... my body was complaining this morning....

I Heart skinny popcorn. I have to measure portions and leave the bag behind, as it is so good!
Had to weigh in on popcorn. I did not used to love it, sticks in my teeth. But... a week or so ago I made a batch for kids I watch. It smelled amazing. Also I was only avout three weeks out from surgery. I can eat things that I can mash with a fork... pretty sure popcorn is not on that list. Well, without thinking I poppd a handful in my mouth, chewed it up, and realized that I can't EAT popcorn. So I spit it out. And continued to eat about another cup... chewing and then spitting it out. ????? It satisfied the urge, but is by far the strangest thing I have done. And I am not proud of it.
When I buy a bag of crunchy stuff... I always look at the servings and ask myself- will I hate myself for eating more than one serving or half a bag or in some cases the whole bag? That is why I can't buy that moon cheese. it says 4 1/2 servings in a tiny bag. I could easily polish off the whole bag, surgery or not. So nope don't buy them.

Cindy I appreciate your transparency. I think it's important that we share our struggles because this food addiction thing is crazy hard. I had a bad eating day yesterday and posted about t above. Ice cream is a trigger food for me and I have to stay away from it too!

Full disclosure here...I ended up eating handfuls of Em's white cheddar cheez-its Saturday night and last night. Both nights while I was prepping my dinner. Today I will not eat any (if I put it out here I will stick to my word)! I just looked over the mantras Anny shared with me a while ago and this will be mine today....I'm in charge of fueling my body mindfully.
