I look so much older
I'm 66 years old. I had my RNY surgery on April 12 and have lost 94 pounds to date. I've gone from 296 to 202. My goal is 195 so I'm getting close. I'm very pleased with the weight loss and my health has greatly improved. My diabetics is gone, as is my sleep apnea. I feel so much better and I move so much easier.
The only negative is that I now look so much older. I feel as if I look at least 10 years older than before. It's because I have added a lot of wrinkles to my face and neck and because I've lost more of my already thinning hair. But nevertheless, this was something I had not expected. I thought that by losing weight, I would look younger, not older. Below are two pictures of me, One before surgery and one taken last week. Has anyone else experienced this sudden aging?

I think you look great. I'm sure you are overly sensitive to it. I'm sure I will too as my face changes. Just looks like happy smile wrinkles to me and if you'd been thin all your life you'd probably look the same as you do now.

Onederland is yours soon; way to go. When informing my friend I was having WLS, first thing she blurted out was, "you are going to get really old looking." I already knew it, seen it happen on others, was ready for it, and it happened. What I didn't expect was people mistaking me for my mother; she is 39 years older than me.
Unless you can afford Tom Cruise's surgeon in Brazil, I don't think men look good with botox, fillers or a facelift. Very easy to get into Kenny Rogers territory.
Personally, I like a man who looks lived in ? and I think the OP looks great for 66 year old!!

In some ways I think I look older (my skin on my face definitely sags now), but then I think about the whole picture and I act and feel so much "younger" now. I'll take that. I just got my proofs for my city's "Komen Race for the Cure" and for a second, I focused on my sagging face, but the picture made me smile and I ordered it. There is no way I would be participating in races for worthy causes if I were still 200 pounds heavier. It would have killed me.

I understand, I really do. I didn't age well myself. Not just weight loss but years of sickness prior to my revision took a toll.
I cannot afford plastic surgery at this point in my life but one thing I have noticed is it does get better. When I first lost the weight it was from the top down. My face looked old and drawn. After a period of time the fat redistributed and I feel I look better. Not young by any means but a lot better.
I did lose too much and I put on about 15 lbs from my lowest but still got the comments that I looked sick. Over the years I hear about how much healthier I look. I no longer get the "too thin" comments even though my weight has been pretty steady.
Things will fill out naturally. I have found that my clothing size has changed even though my weight hasn't.
