65mg Carbonyl Iron 400ct
Need help Vitalady is not carrying her iron tenders for a while does anyone know what I can take until she is back in stock? I would like to get as close to what she sold as well as the price for the amount? those were the only ones that didn't hurt my stomach. Thanks any help will be greatly appreciated.
I use Sundown Perfect Iron. They are tiny, and only 25mg of carbonyl, so I take more of them. They are fairly cheap on Amazon and other places online.

Hi, my WLS literature says men and post-menopausal women don't necessarily have to take extra iron other than what's found in their daily multivitamins. Did your literature instruct men to take extra iron, were your iron levels low, or do you merely choose to take extra iron as a precaution? I had my local Walgreens special order Sundown Perfect Iron, but now notice my local Walmart has started carrying the Sundown line of supplements.
I see some men get away without extra iron for the first few years after surgery. But I don't know anyone further out from RNY that doesn't need extra.
My iron was ok with supplements until last December. My ferritin was in the 320s. Then I had a bleeding ulcer, lost 6 units of blood, and have been scrambling to drag it back up ever since.
My local supermarket carries Sundown, and used to have the iron, but stopped. I get it online now.

your literature is incorrect. Many post menopausal wls patients need to take iron.
I was post menopausal and taking iron and was tracking my labs myself and still woke up one day going for a blood transfusion and iv iron injections.
I took two 65mg a day of Vitalady tender iron and my labs has been perfect for the pass 7years - this is random but i dropped a does of calcium cause mines was running high so now I'm down to two doses of calcium a day - I never heard of anyone not having to take an Iron suppliment men or women regardless. I would love to find another 65mg I hate taking more pills than i have too. Thanks for all the replies.
I've taken the Sundowns as well, and I've taken the Feosol carbonyl too. They've both worked well for me. ( Feosol sells two types, so make sure you choose carbonyl. )
I found a product at Wal-Mart called Vitron C-it's 65 mg carbonyl iron with some Vit C added. I take extra C because I don't think it really contains enough to aid absorption.
I woke up in between a memory and a dream...
