Could this be egg, walking or just a coincidence?
Today makes exactly two weeks from my surgery. This morning I went for my usual walk which accidentally went a little longer than I expected. I've been doing 1 mile but this turned into two. When I got home I was tired but not too bad. Last week I started with yogurt and cottage cheese but at my two week follow up yesterday the nurse suggested I try an egg scrambled with a lot of milk. I did this and was able to eat about 1/3 of it over about 20 min when I got this feeling I should stop. I did stop but since then my lower abdominals don't feel so good and I've had diarrhea. Is this a fluke, too much walking to early on, or the small amount of egg I had? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Yes. Any and all or none of that could be the cause. As early on as you are things are really squirrel-y. Egg might have caused it today but might be fine tomorrow or next week. Could have been the walk. Might not have any issues next week though. Just rest and give yourself time.
Make mental notes and look for patterns over time. Remember, it takes three data points to make a trend. One of anything is just a dot.

Thank you. I've been making notes in MFP with different reactions to things so I can add this.

You lament the suggestion (or should it be said "warning") to introduce new foods slowly, one at a time, and be at home when you do. It could be a newfound sensitivity to the lactose in dairy. Were you given an explanation why "a lot of milk" instead of "a little milk?" (my thought is too much milk would turn a dense protein like egg into a slider protein with less satiation) Walking may have revved up your digestion system more than normal, too. WLS digestion systems seem to be super sensitive and unpredictable those first few months post-op. Good news--things do even out over time.
I used lactose free fat free milk. They said it would make it softer if I used milk or water and water didn't make sense to me.

Your doctor released you to food pretty quickly!
I am only 1 1/2 weeks out and can't start on foods for another couple of weeks. Hopefully on my 2 week visit on Weds. I will get the go ahead to start mushy foods.
Congrats on being able to do the amount of exercise you're doing. I'm still real sore from surgery and healing from a really bad UTI.

Yes after the first week we could start on yogurt, cottage cheese and egg. I'm going slow though!
I definately over did the walking. Before surgery I swam a lot and I was hoping to get moving again but I think I'll stick to a shorter distance for a bit. Sorry about your UTI that's gotta be difficult with also dealing with surgery. Hope that you recover quickly from that.
