What is on your Thursday Menu RNYers?
Good morning!
QOTD: Have not found anything spectacular yet. I need a better calcium supplement. Hated the Opurity chewable ones. Are those BA chocolate ones chews? I tried Moon Cheese. Meh. I will eat it eventually, but it certainly does not call out to me in the night (hmm maybe that is a good thing). I LOVE the Babybel cheese, regular not light. I was trying to choke down light string cheese at 50 calories, but discovered the Babybel ones are 61 calories, so I would rather enjoy my snack. I also love the Chocolate Covered Katie website, which has some good stuff you just have to watch for recipes that include chocolate or other sweet stuff.
B: early day today... Premier Protein Chocolate shake, Cruisin Coffee sf pumpkin spice lf latte
L: Oikos Triple Zero Mixed Berry
D: Trying salmon tonight
S: Babybel cheese, maybe another yogurt if needed
Totals: not home, but around 550 cals Protein above 70g hopefully ;)
I love Chocolate Covered Katie as well... have you tried her cookie dough dip??? Soooo good. Made it with triuvia brown sugar sweetener. You can also roll into balls and freeze...

I have NOT tried that... but wanting to make the peanut butter cookies she just posted. I am still on soft foods, but I am certain I could crush either of those with a fork ;)
Good morning! We're back to summer weather for a few days, which is lovely, but it sure gets dark early.
QOTD: I ordered Bariatric Advantage caramel calcium chews from Vitalady for the first year after surgery, but due to the lousy exchange rate and shipping fees, now just buy calcium citrate tablets at the store when they're on sale. I get Jordan's Skinny Syrups from Winners (a TJMaxx stre in Canada). No great websites to recommend.
B: noatmeal
L: salmon on a bed of spinach and grape tomatoes
D: chicken leg
S: zuchinni, apple
It's almost Thanksgiving weekend in Canada, and I had some pumpkin pie last night - an unplanned 'cheat' for me (I usually plan my holiday indulgences ahead of time for minimum calorie impact.) It didn't taste that great, the crust was like cardboard, yet I finished the entire slice. The scale is up a bit today, so it definitely wasn't worth it. Today is a fresh start.
I got wicked busy this morning at work, and am JUST getting on OH!!
QOTD: I like that http://www.nashuanutrition.com/store/ will let you buy samples of pretty much all of their powders!! I did LOTS of samples before and after surgery to find the ones I liked. It was a real money saver for me! I am interested in the carbquik, do you use it often?
18 months since surgery
3 protein shakes throughout the day
Dinner: leftovers from last night, so taco salad made with ground turkey
Totals: Cals: 730 Protein: 103 Carbs: 33 Fat: 22

I have to say I really can't do any of the snacks that are low carb. It seems when I do them. Old bad habits come back. They can be a trigger for me.
I have been busy with work. I don't go on the computer there since I am in charge of the store. The only time we get to sit is when we go to the bathroom. Not really sitting. Hovering.
I am off today and it is sunny. Working the weekends are not that bad. I like having the house to myself when everyone else is working.
B:2 24oz coffees / breakfast sandwich from Wawa. My pouch really isn't liking it.
L:Coffee
D:Steak and green beans
Walked almost five miles this morning. I would have walked all five but I have a ton of crap to do.
Enjoy the day.
Good afternoon Cynthia and menu crew. I am late to the dance today. Sorry to hear about your Mets!
QOTD - I like netrition as well. I order Mr Cheese O's and I found some crackers called Skinny Crisps that I really like. I live in NY state, so I get my package the next day! Yay
B - Protein Bar
S - Greek yogurt - caramel apple pie
L - 4 oz sirloin steak and 3 tbl of baked sweet potato
s - Buddig beef
D - Italian sausage and peppers
Exercise - going for a run tonight....
Stay healthy my friends, Mike
Good morning and happy friday eve! I've had bottomless pouch days the last few days. I can guess why . . . Sunday night was the start of Jewish New Year. While I'm usually good on holidays and don't allow many indulgences, Rosh Hashanah is one of my favorites, and I allowed myself to eat on Sunday night. A small piece of raisin challah, some noodle kugel, a small scoop of roasted potato with rosemary. It wouldn't have been bad, except it sent me into a carb frenzy. I'm trying to rein it in but it's been slow going. I'm up 1.5 lbs as a result. I know I haven't eaten enough food since Sunday night to cause that kind of gain, but it still messes with my head. All I can do is take it one day at a time and do what I can to get back on track.
CQOTD: Nothing really. My one snack vice is somersaults. My dietitian suggested them to me as a decent snack since they are a combo of protein and carbs and, for me, really satisfy the crunch craving I get now and then (although my brother tried them and said they taste like cardboard . . . so taste really is subjective) I'm usually really good with them and can stop at a serving, but this past week, I'm shoveling them into my mouth on the regular. So, I either need to dump them or leave them at home and measure out a serving into a snack size baggie until I get myself back in control.
My plan:
B: 2.73 oz deli roast beef
L: 2.93 oz deli turkey; edamame (again if I get up the energy to go get edamame)
D: ??
S: Skinny vanilla latte; light and fit (I'm having a craving for it, so I'm hoping that means my lactose issues are resolving)
Totals (without dinner) Cal. 568; Protein: 67g; Fat: 10g; Carbs: 54g (high but definitely down from where they've been, so i'll take it.)
