What is on your Thursday Menu RNYers?
Jumpimg on here, past the 9am mark eastern time- which usually means AV is caught up in something....
I still have yet to figure out why some days you can march through no stress on the food front... Then other days the mental dialogue can send you over the edge.... The Vices as Pammieanne posted about last night. Yesterday a struggle in my brain, did eventually send myself upstairs and to my room early to stop the madness. Also put the good, bad and the ugly in MFP and totals weren't as bad as the mental battle.
One thing that stopped the madness in the midst was facetiming with my 3-year-old grandson. A big reason that motivated me to do this whole shebang. New generation- I got to 'babysit' via facetime while my DIL took a shower... It's a new world...
QOTD: I just put an order in with Netrition. Love them- flat shipping, and lots of bariatric friendly goodies. SO is there a product or website you would like to share that helps you? One of the things I buy is Kay's Naturals Honey Almond Cereal 120 calories and 12g protein. It is my go-to crunchy snack, not as cereal. Also Carbquik- Like low-carb Bisquick.
1: Coffee lattee with fairlife and miralax
2: Syntrax cappuccino Protein drink
3: Turkey and provolone melt on Wasa
4: Pear and cottage cheese
5: steak, green beans
6: yogurt with protein powder
Ex: 21 day fix = done

I did a good job tracking in all of my little bites yesterday and today I was rewarded with a -.4 loss. I'll take it.
I'm in MARATHON meetings today, so I'm not anticipating any steps. First one goes from 7am - 11am (yes I'm being bad right now), then I have to drive back to the office for another meeting from 12pm - 5pm. Last meeting will go from 5pm - 6pm. BOO. I'll be rewarded with a 1.5 hour commute home.
Funny side story...Yesterday, I sent Grim to the grocery store to buy Balsamic Vinegrette. The very bewildered and confused texts I was getting were freaking hilarious. Poor guy. I won't do that to him again!
QOTD: ...you know how I feel about my Mr. Cheese Os...
B: 1/2 Fit Frappe Espresso and 1 babybel cheese
S: Chobani PUMPKIN Greek Yogurt Flip
L: Go Picnic: Turkey Pepperoni and Asiago Spread
D: Tuna and Balsamic (thanks Grim!) on Wasa crackers

Morning Cyndy. I was about to post, but I'm glad that you did because I hate trying to come up with a QOTD! LOL. I hope that AV is okay and that she's just super busy, or that she's right now at her son's school giving them what for.
Anyway, I am in a great mood today. Starting at my new job this afternoon, so I'm super pumped. My kiddo is being clingy and difficult, it's like he knows I'll be leaving him. Le sigh. As far as the food days, it comes and goes for me. Yesterday I was spot on all day, felt great, didn't have any cravings or anything. I ended my day well and didn't feel like I went off the rails at all. That is a huge win for me. My weight was at the lowest ever of 160.2 this morning, despite being in the middle of shark week. But this morning I just want to eat everything. I bought my kids a couple boxes of cereal the other day... Boo Berry and Franken Berry, and I was getting the baby a small bowl this morning and it was all I could do to NOT eat some. I was good, but man, that fake Franken Berry was calling my name.
As for th e QOTD, I honestly don't eat many snacks that are geared toward WLS patients. I have bought Kay's Naturals from Amazon, and I've ordered from another bariatric place, but honestly I can't remember which one. When I get protein powder, I usually go to GNC, and I buy bars (rarely) from the local store or GNC, depending on if I get a coupon. I just went to netrition.com and I think I'm going to order the Carbquick, and maybe a few other things. My hubby is struggling hard with his diet, and I'm going to see if I can make some stuff to help keep him satisfied and not on the verge of bingeing every day.
Here's my plan, but I'm feeling confident in this plan.
14 months since surgery
B: 1 apple oatmeal cup (early), coffee with sugar free coffeemate, and 2 eggs scrambled with sugar free ketchup
L: tuna salad on 1/2 a flat out wrap. I am all out of tomatoes right now, but there are a ton on my tomato plant that haven't ripened yet. Do you guys think that they will ripen even though it's getting colder here? I keep checking, there are some pretty big ones, but they aren't changing color at all.
D: Oscar Meyer Selects uncured turkey sausage (4oz) with sauteed peppers and onions, and 1/2 ounce of shredded cheddar
S: Light and Fit greek yogurt and a quest protein shake made with unsweetened almond milk.
totals:
calories 968 protein 97 carbs 52 fat 43
Regarding Tomatoes -- you could keep leaving them outside to see if they will turn, but don't let them freeze & go to waste. You can bring them inside to ripen. I have read that people think you have to set by window for light, but that it is not true. I've heard people say to set in a box with Newspaper in the dark and they will ripen. Something about the news print? But maybe they ripen even without that and without the dark. They won't taste like "right out of the sunshine" tomatoes, but still better than the grocery store!
Ahh - just googled. Maybe the newspaper was to absorb any liquid? Cool dry place. Don't have tomatoes touching each other.

BTW - always impressed by those of you with kids. You have to bring that tempting food in the house AND you have to touch it to fix their meals. I don't think I could survive it. Good for you resisting that cereal you had to touch & smell!
Have a great time at your new job!!!
Babysitting via facetime! Love it!
QOTD: I'm too new to have any ideas for bariatric goodies, so I'll sit back today and be paying attention to everyone's answers.
I have another QOTD should anyone choose to answer: I'm still 5 weeks out so I'm dealing with some sleep issues. Does everyone go through this fresh out of surgery? Does this resolve itself? I get about 3-5 hours sleep straight, and then wake up 1, 3, 5, and i might go back to bed, I might not. But it really sucks because i need this sleep.
