I do remember feeling hungry in the beginning. Yes, popsicles can be your friend. I was told they counted as 2oz liquid. :)

You are not going to hurt yourself with fluids, so don't worry about the 1oz cups- they maybe slowing you up....  Fluids are very important right now.... any form.... protein, tea, coffee, water....crystal light...

I'm 6 weeks post op and I'm starving about every 2 - 3 hours... This started about 2 days post op... There really isn't anything that can be done about it really according to my surgeon... He just recommends eating heavier foods and hope that it will stay with me longer then would thinner foods... I try to fill up on water, which doesn't help all that much... I was told I'd rarely feel hungry, but unfortunately I wasn't blessed with that side effect of the surgery. LOL.

So yesterday was my first day of puréed foods and I had a can of chicken noodle soup mashed up.  I could eat the whole can in was sitting. I don't think he made my pouch small enough. I'm sure I'm not supposed to be able to do that.

This is morning I got on the scale and was up 2lbs :(  this is going to be a terrible roller coaster ride for me.

Fluids and pureed foods move through the pouch a lot faster than solids will. Also a lot of the nerves were damaged during the surgery and will need time to heal, which may be why you're not feeling full.

I'm at six weeks (2 weeks on soft solids) and where I couldn't feel full at all before (even when I drank water too fast and it came back up), I feel it now.

I dealt with it by measuring carefully and pushing the water heavily when I felt hungry.

Also, don't get caught in the trap of weighing yourself every day. Pick a day of week and time of day and do it once a week for your own sanity. That way you'll have a clear baseline. Also measure. I measure bust, waist, hips, bicep and calf. It helps in the weeks where I feel like I'm failing because it's not coming off fast enough, because the measurements will drop. Your weight will bounce a bit during the day and during the week, so a once a week weight and measure keeps you more consistent (and sane!).

Thank you so much!  I'm still not feeling full but I just stop myself with my meals.  I just had a can of soup for lunch and it went right thru me.  I'll drink water in 30 min then I'll have some tuna fish.  It will be a small amount.  Hopefully, that protein will hold me over until lunch.  A friend who had the same surgery said the exact same things you said.  I refuse to weigh myself until Fridays.  I may even wait for a few weeks before I weigh myself again. I'm keeping up with what I eat on the Lose It App.  This is what I've had so far today.

1 container of Greek Yogurt

1 Protein shake

1 can of chicken noodle soup

So far today I've had 57g of protein.

Am I eating too little or too much?

It sounds right about in line where I was that far out. =) If you need someone to cheer you on, just let me know!

so i got on the scale and i'm up another pound and a half for a total of 6lbs in ONE week.  i'm 2 weeks out today.  Very disappointed and don't know whats happening.  I have a doctor's appointment Monday.

I started walking the other morning at 5:45am for 45 min. and eat the things i listed above.  I track my food on the app Lose It.  It is connected to my apple watch which tracks my steps.  I'm getting in 10,000 steps a day sometimes a little less.   I know its too early to give up but I can't believe the scale is going the wrong direction.

I bounce up and down a pound or so from day to day regularly. It can be water weight, or in my case now that I'm taking iron if I'm constipated (ugh). I thought I'd gone up two pounds this wee****il the laxatives kicked in yesterday and then I was down again this morning. I think in a week or so I'll move to weighing weekly to make it less stressful.
