Anyone use benefiber?

The booklet from my surgeons office recommends using this if you're having constipation problems. But the dosage they give in the manual is much smaller than what's on the bottle itself. They recommend 1 teaspoon twice a day and the bottle recommends 2 teaspoons three times a day. I'm just curious if anyone else is using it and what's working for you

I use it - I put a spoonful in my yogurt a few times a week - not even everyday.  I stay on top of it, but if I got constipated, I would take the 2 tsp 3X until everything came out.

It worked for me, but caused excess gas.  Citrucel works but without the gas.

Hi.

Does this help keep the bowel clear?

I'm finding I have a large amount of stool these days but it does not come out "regularly".

My doc told me yesterday that I could take benefiber, BUT to be careful. If I don't take enough fluids in, even the benefiber can cause constipation. This could be the rationale for your office adjusting the dosing. You could also call your doc's office and ask why the difference.

I do a scoop of Benefiber in my protein shake in the morning along with a probiotic. That keeps me going pretty well.
