Post-Op Depression/Anxiety
Thanks! Everyone seems to be suggesting the counseling, so i'm leaning towards that more and more. I was going to wait it out another month to see if i can do this, but today i've had knots in my stomach on and off. I think I may need to do that.
Im too new to experience dumping. I follow everything the program says so that I don't dumb, but im terrified of the thought of it, and worried about how it will effect my quality of life. I love your response. thanks so much!

Hello and congratulations! One, for having this life-changing surgery, and second, for coming here. I had my RnY just over three weeks ago, and it is overwhelming some days. Lot to learn very quickly. There are great resources here, and I log in every day at least once (and some days many, many times...) One of my favorite threads is the "What's on your menu" ... every day people post what their menu plan is. It gives so many ideas of what to eat. I use MyFitnessPal to track my food and plan, which helps a lot.
I know you will get there. Follow your plan, get counseling, log in and ask questions or get advice, or just to see what other people are up to!
Yes, I've been enjoying the Whats on your menu threads a lot. They do give great ideas. I just started using MyFitnessPal yeseterday.
Thanks for the advice. I will definitely continue to follow my plan, log in daily, and leaning more towards counseling as well.

You are at the worst moment right now. You are suffering from hormone dumping from burning all that fat. You are physically withdrawing from food. You have lost your emotional frutch. You are tired, and still healing and recovering from major surgery. This is all very typical.
AND, you still have lost a small amount of weight. Soon, weight loss will be really adding up. Hormones will be leveling off. And every day there will be some new small victory.
It gets much, much better.

I'm glad to know this is all very typical and that it goes away. Thanks for reaffirming that it does do better, and responding to my other posts about calorie intake and etc. Everyone here is so helpful!

First congrats on wanting to change. Do not be afraid to talk to someone like a councilor or psychologist. I am only 10 weeks post op and still have issues with food sometimes. With that said I feel so much better. I went through a lot of emotions and I still have good and bad days. You can do this.
Thank you! I will definitely be checking into a counselor. Im glad you're feeling so much better 10 weeks out. I hope mine comes that soon for me. I'm glad to know I'm not alone.
Good Afternoon! I am glad that you have reached out here. I know I went through tons of emotions as well. For me, I think part of it was hormone related and then of course learning to work through stress without turning to food. Also I felt like adjusting to my new life was a full-time job...when to take vitamins, when to/not to drink, when/how much should I eat, would new foods upset my stomach and the list goes on. I am happy to report that for me it was only temporary and once I settled in with my new routine I felt so much better. Best of luck to you!
