What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Good Monday Morning all! You guys, I am so tired. SO TIRED. The bull**** I'm dealing with at my son's school has me and my husband all spun up. We've drawn a line in the sand at this point, and there's no going back. My husband contacted the diocese on Thursday, and to their credit they immediately dispatched the director and coordinator of the Safe Environment/Victim Assistance program to the school. They met with my son and with us and while it was productive, we still don't have closure. The parish priest was on retreat, and he needs to be part of the conversation because we've told them either this other POS kid goes, or we go. I hate to even think that my husband and I, as adults, may essentially be "bullied" ourselves into changing schools, but we are not backing down. When we got home from the meeting, we also called the sheriff's office. They sent an officer to the house right away and he took all the info and said they would start an investigation. He was pretty great. He called my husband the next day and said, "You can't let this go. You need to pursue this because this other kid's behavior is only going to escalate if there are no consequences.". Exactly, dude. So, we'll see what happens today because Father is supposed to return. Also? My son is out of school for the third day in a row. Why, exactly, is this other kid allowed to attend? Ugh.
So, in the midst of all this bull**** I went on a wine tour on Saturday. LOL It had been booked (and paid for) for months, so Matt said I needed to go and get out. And honestly, it was way fun. I've lived in the Finger Lakes area for years and I've never done one. Here's my and my girl Carrie after 3 wineries and who knows how many tastings. LOL

Kristen, glad you got out, it sounds like a super stressful week. I think you're doing the right thing, if you don't stand up, what would it teach your son at this point? I'm sure he's not minding being off school too much. Ha.
B- irish tea w/SF peppermint mocha creamer (seriously good ya'll); 3 oz deli shaved ham w/spicy mustard
L- 5 oz frozen ****tail shrimp with sauce
D-unsure, will be out
S- triple zero yogurt
Totals- Cals- not sure yet, protein should be around 80 as long as I do good at dinner.
*The scale is moving since I've dropped my calories to below 700...at an average of about 2 pounds per week, so that's a win! Also--one more NSV to share. I took my son Weston to see Dracula at a theater on Saturday night, the theater seats always made me super uncomfortable because I spilled over them. I had PLENTY of room on each side of me Saturday, it honestly felt SO good!

Congratulations on that NSV! I noticed the last time I had to relieve the receptionist downstairs, that I had more room in her chair. Just prior to surgery, I once went to stand up after sitting there for an hour, and the chair almost came up with me! I was mortified!!! Now, when I sit there I can comfortably sit, without the arms digging into my butt/hips! Doesn't it feel great?!

I'm sorry your dealing with this Karen. It sounds like you're taking all the right steps. Maybe one of your meetings needs to be a discussion around your son getting his missed work and time to make it up?
My sister went to a winery in NY recently- she really enjoyed it.

Good Morning!
So sorry to hear about everything going on at your son's school. That part of parenting is the worst. I certainly think you did the right thing contacting the sheriff. Hope it all works out that your son gets to stay, and the jerk bully goes!
I am so so very tired this AM. I spent the last 4 days in Las Vegas - it was tons of fun. We walked 16,000+ steps each day, saw a great show, and even got tattoos! So glad I went!
I am always glad to be back and in my "normal" routine though. Also, I have a lot to get done before my abdominoplasty next Monday. Speaking of which...my loose skin apron flagged on the body scanner and I have to get an extra pat down - I didn't know if I should laugh or cry! Good thing that sucker is getting cut off next week!

I'm worth it!
Good luck next Monday! A lot of us folks get the special pat down because of skin. But it's still worth it.
