What's on Your Saturday Menu, RNYers?
Hi JB and everyone! Happy Saturday!
Qotd: I was sick with constant nausea and heartburn. My PCP sent me to have an endoscopy and colonoscopy to see what was going on. I met with the surgeon before the procedure and he asked me about my health problems. High blood pressure, pre diabetes, arthritis, reflux. He asked me how old I was. I was 47 at the time. He told me I had two roads ahead of me. One road led to worsening obesity related diseases and death in ten years. The other road was WLS and health and 30 more years. That was in December of 2015 and my surgery was in May of 2016. Forever grateful to that doctor.
Food: I must have some stomach bug. I feel gross and food sounds horrible. I'll make some protein choices if I get hungry.

Good morning!
QOTD: no one moment fo me. I switched to a new doctor, and she worked with me for a year trying to get me healthy. I have diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, and she was worrie. Finally one day she said would you consider bariatric surgery? I was shocked. Always watched celebrities who had gastric bypass and judged them terribly as having taken the easy way out because they had money. Turned out, my insurance paid because they agreed that it was nearing the end of the road for me. Lucky day.

Good morning! Glad that you have a nice relaxing weekend planned. We are heading to a little fair in one of our neighboring little cities, it's a verg small free gate fair but hubby needs a fair corn dog fix and I'm sure there will be midway games and such in the near future.
QOTD: You may have heard the story before but here goes. We were on vacation and Em wanted to ride a roller coaster at the end of the Santa Monica pier but was scared to do it alone. We bought the tickets and went to get on the ride. I was too large and the belt wouldn't clasp so I had to get off. She had to ride by herself. It was a huge NSV when I was able to ride it with her a year later!
Menu for today: B: Latte and shake L: TBD since we will be at the fair but I will find meat of some sort (inside of beef tacos maybe) S: Latte, yogurt, deli meat and pork rinds D: I pulled out a few steaks this morning and if I have time this afternoon I may attempt a recipe I have had saved on Pinterest for a long time (German chocolate cake dwith pecan frosting made with zucchini).
Run done this morning and water and vits on track.
Enjoy the weekend all!

Hello everyone. Today I got on the scale, after being away for a few days, and I was thrilled to have finally made it to my personal goal of 138 pounds!!! That's 100 pounds since surgery and 112 pounds since I started this journey.
QOTD: We were on holidays and trying to get to a waterfall. We had to climb this huge sand hill to get to our destination. For every step I climbed, I would sink two steps back. My husband & son we're trying to help me. I was so embarrassed & humiliated. I made them go ahead & told them I would meet them. It took me a really long time, but I climbed that hill. When I made it to the top, I was so angry with myself. That was the moment that I knew something drastic had to happen. I have no regrets. Best decision ever.
todays food includes: protein coffee, cheese, salami, strawberries, roast, green beans, nuts, mooncheese.
have a great weekend, all.
