The gnawing hunger pain sounds like an ulcer. The distention is definitely something that needs to be addressed. Get into to your PCP ASAP not just for lab work but to see if a CT scan can be done. Not trying to scare you at all, but it does need to be addressed sooner rather than later. It's sad about your surgeon. It sucks the new doc won't take on the existing patients...esp if it seems like you could have some complications setting in. I'd put in a call to them too and tell them you feel like something is wrong. Can they advise or give a referral to a new surgeon?

I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

I was worrried about the distended abdomen more than anything else. I did get a call this morning from the dr taking over his new cases and they were happy to see me to figure out what's going on. She was concerned about a possible fistula. They will see me October 11. I was very relieved by this call and appt.

That's very reassuring! If you hadn't been able to get in sooner, I would have suggested finding a gastroenterologist to take a look perhaps. Very glad you'll get some help soon.

You could just be full of **** Literally. Some people get really backed up, even if they are going regularly. It can just keep building up, and cause the symptoms you describe. A simple x-ray can find out if this is happening.

I was full of it last year. I was in so much pain I was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

I hope you feel better.
