Yay! New food!
I had a buddig turkey pack today, and also eggs for dinner, no pain! So excited. I am just over a month out and have only been able to tolerate the softest of foods with things getting stuck. I'm still taking it super slow...I have no desire to repeat that experience. Thinking of maybe some frozen meatballs next? What would be a good next step?

Take it slow. I didn't eat anything like those things until after the eight week mark.

I'm almost 4.5 months out. I get stuck easily, even now.
Fish, shrimp, crab are all good things to try. I haven't tried meatballs since I got them stuck about a month ago (plus, be careful, because some of the frozen ones have a lot of fillers (carbs) added to them.
Have you tried chili? For some reason, the ground meat in Hormel chili has always been good for me.
Whatever you try, only eat a few bites of it the first time. I'm not good at that advice myself ;)

Just remember to keep everything tender and moist. Meatballs can be dry.... so have to be careful. I never had a problem with beef, everyone is different, ate it from 3 weeks after surgery. It is OK to use a little condiment, sauce, broth...something to keep it moist. The Crockpot can be your friend right now because it tenderizes everything....

my issue with meatballs is that they are higher in calories because they usually have some sort of binder in them to make them stick together, and sometimes breading and extra sauce with sugar in them.
i was not allowed beef for 6 months because it was too tough on stomach. they really didn't want me eating pork either unless it was pork loin.
Maybe turkey meatballs, or just buy some ground turkey, add your seasonings, and some egg whites as binders. Then you could control your nutritional.
I did salmon early on- when i was on puree i cooked it and pureed it with cream cheese and flavorings and it was yummy!
i also did a ton of tuna in the packets with a little hummus (like 1/2 a serving instead of mayo)
Salmon is a good idea. I love it and never buy it because no one else likes it! It's funny that my surgeons office has been really pushy on advancing the diet. The sample menu that they gave out, it has a week of meals on it, supposed to be for this two-week to three months out. They are so ambitious, those people who have not actually had this surgery, aren't they?
