Roux-en-Y advice
I'm late to this post but I hope you are still reading and learning .
This is from a long term prospective.
- You NEVER have obesity licked. It's easy to get into this mindset within the first 2 - 3 years when you have ( hopefully) hit goal and life is grand. Don't think your food demons are gone or you won't have to pay attention to the scale
2 CALORIES are king. I still keep track daily. Some don't need to, but if you start gaining pay attention.
3. Exercise is great for many health reasons, however it will not cure poor eating.
4. Dense protein. First, foremost, for the rest of your life
5. Know your trigger foods and avoid. Please, DON'T test the waters until you reach goal, or never if possible.
6. Try and lead a healthy life. Not always perfect, but breathe, try and find happiness, eat well and embrace change.
7. There are NO do-overs. Don't screw around, especially the first 6 - 8 months which are your prime losing months. Optimize, optimize, optimize.
8. Pay Attention. Concentrate. Don't let obesity back in your life. This is THE most important health step you have likely taken, or will take in your life. Treat it as important and life saving.
Good luck
