I cut out diet soda and caffeine before hand, started not drinking with meals and ate like I would after surgery but in larger amounts. My metabolism was so messed up that even with 30 minutes exercise a day and a 1200 calorie diet I only lost 5 pounds and most of that was on the liquid diet the week before surgery. My dismal results encourageD my decision for surgery even more though.

QOTD: I stopped eating processed carb-y things. My doc said if I could buy it out a vending machine not to eat it-I did stick to that most of the time. I also started the 30-30 drinking rule since I knew that would take some time to adjust to. I lost about 40 lbs in the 5-6 months prior to surgery.

It was a year between the time I was accepted into the bariatric program and the time I had surgery.  I used that valuable time to make the necessary life changes that were necessary to be successful post surgery. I started an exercise program, and changed the way I ate. I also started tracking all of my food in MFP.  I lost 50 pounds before surgery and felt strong as they wheeled me into surgery.  For me, the work I did before surgery was as important as what I did after.

This cold can seriously GO AWAY any time now.  I feel like the biggest baby, and normally I don't ***** so much when I am sick, but I have now started coughing on top of having to blow my nose every 12 seconds

17+ months since surgery

I will wallow with you Melissa, I got exactly what you have, started to get bad yesterday/last night.  I have been sneezing and my nose is running so bad I am going through boxes of kleenex. My throat feels like I am swallowing glass. I have zero appetite...

Hope you feel better soon!!!

I have ZERO energy too. I feel like I am drained, totally and completely drained.  I have been passing out on the couch in the evenings and not going to the gym either which I feel guilty about... being sick sucks.  Did you get nauseous? I am sitting here at my desk at work and feeling like I am going to throw up or maybe its just lucky me! ha ha

Hope you turn a corner soon!
