Good Morning Everyone!
Prayers and healing wishes to all who are sick!
QOTD: Pre-op I practiced not drinking after meals, which was hard for me. Also not doing anything else (TV, reading, computer) while eating. I only had to do a pre-op diet for 1 week.
Melissa's QOTD: I can't think of anything I've lied about lately. I'm usually a pretty truthful person.
Peach's QOTD: Housework? I detest it all! My house is a mess! LOL!
My menu for today:
Breakfast: 2 eggs, sunny side up, 3 strips bacon
Lunch: Lettuce salad w/ tomato, chicken, bacon, cheese & ranch dressing (I'm out of low fat)
Dinner: Homemade burrito
Snack: Oiko's Triple Zero greek yogurt
Snack: Moon cheese
Snack: 2 string cheese sticks
Snack: sugar-free pudding w/ cool whip
Exercise: Walking the dogs around the subdivision
Have a fantastic day, everyone!
~ Karen

QOTD I gave up pop and caffienated coffee. Started drinking more water. Started measuring my food and writing it down , seeing my totals of calories and protein and stuff. Following the dieticians advice because she said I wasnt eating enough on my first visit and she gave me a calorie goal and to start eating six meals a day to get prepared for surgery. I started to make food changes by eating high protein and low carb diet. Not to drink 15 minutes before and 45 mins after eating. I lost 25 pounds from her advice. I didnt have a liquid diet before surgery. We had to buy their food they sell for our preop diet for two weeks. I had already joined a gym before I decided to have surgery but went more faithfully.
B 2 decaf coffee with fairlife milk, egg whires ham and cheese omelet and string cheese
L cottage cheese and vegetable chili (its a package stuff from my bariatric center)
Ill have more decaf coffee with fairlife milk
D roast beef, asparagus, and 1/2 sweet potato
S greek yogurt, turkey sausage snack sticks, and apple
Have a good day
QOTD #1: I gave up soda and weaned myself off caffeine (giving it up completely 2-3 weeks before surgery). I was already a pretty healthy eater, so the dietitian just made me cut way back on calories (under 2300/day, which was a huge challenge. Ha! That would seem like a gut-busting feast now!!), and keep my carbs around 100 grams or lower (most of the carbs I ate were the complex variety, but I ate a lot of them....). I was also supposed to practice not drinking after eating, but his was also a huge challenge - oddly, it was much easier post-surgery. I also started exercising 3x a week.
QOTD #2: I rarely lie, unless it's to preserve someone's feelings ("yes - that new haircut looks great on you!" *choke*), so I really don't remember when I last lied. Although I don't share the fact I had surgery with very many people - so I guess that's a lie - or rather, omitting a major fact..
QOTD #3: I pretty much hate all housework. Fortunately, my husband is a neatnik and doesn't mind doing it, so there you go...
16 months out:
B: pumpkin Greek yogurt with added protein powder and 2 T oats
S: protein shake, coffee with half & half
L: 1 C cottage cheese with caraway seed & scallions, cherry tomatoes
D: Japanese-flavored stirfry - no rice (pork, mushrooms, zucchini, carrots, bell peppers)
probably another Greek yogurt or frozen protein pudding pop as a snack
Exercise - went to a 7:00 am yoga class this morning - need to get back into my exercise routine - I've been slacking off the last couple of weeks
