Trying Meat? So full!
I tried an ounce of deli ham today with a cheese stick. About 1:30. I am still full from it. Do y'all just stop eating at that point? I am not sick but... Boy that s**t lasts a while doesn't it? I am still supposed to have dinner which should be 2 ounces of buffalo chicken salad...
I am no expert, I am only 6 weeks out, but I know when I have had enough so I stop. I eat be the clock not by how I feel...lol I haven't felt hungry and I really never feel full, I feel like I have had enough. It's tough to explain

But, what if you have not had enough protein? I was still 12 grams short of 60 which is my minimum. I ate as much as I could but still fell short. Wonderful, but how in the world do you get it all in? The protein shakes don't sit in my pouch like the meat does!
When I was as soon out from surgery as you are, I couldn't even eat meat. I think that if you're short on protein, perhaps just add another protein shake at the end of the day.
It takes some people months to be able to get enough protein from just food, and you're not even 3 weeks out. I still have to be very careful with some meats... but I also have a very persnickety pouch.

My surgeon's dietitian cleared me for anything that could be mashed with a fork... And encouraged me to try lots of different foods, one at a time of course. They don't frown on protein drinks but said my goal should be to get off them as soon as I can. I would only drink those if I had a choice... Not much meat has any appeal to me. I think I may swear off for a few days and go back to cottage cheese and my premier protein ;)
Yeah, I was 'allowed' to eat them... but my pouch had different ideas. LOL
Tuna in oil goes down easier, according to my doc.
fish is a great source of protein and is so much lighter on the tummy too!
You'll figure it out... eventually. Heck, I'm still figuring it out! LOL
In the meantime, Premier Protein and I are still very good friends

Ah, the magic of meat. A year from now it will take more meat to make you feel this full. But it will always make you feel sated for a long time. Crackers? You can eat a lot more, and want even more in a half hour. It's why we are supposed to focus on dense protein first.
If you start to feel full, stop. Always. Ideally, you stop before you feel full. But that's hard to figure.
