Had MY 2-week Post-op!
I just got back from the long trek to Seattle for my post-op with my adorable surgeon. I am down to a 25-year low of 238 pounds, which I was totally happy with until the dietitian commented, "oh my, that is a bit lower than we usually see two weeks out." (Insert very bad four-letter word here). When I got to,the surgeon part of the visit, he said I am doing great, and it can take 6-9 weeks for all the fluids they pump into me to leave, and that is a fine loss and there is nothing wrong with me.
They are happy with my diet (because I already knew it all from HERE) and happy with how much water and protein I am getting in. Thrilled with my average caloric intake of 500-600 calories per day. I am cleared now to eat anything I can mash with a fork (hmmmmm). They said I can take whole pills now, Nature-made vitamins, only need iron once a week, but do have to continue blood thinner shots for two more weeks.
The only problem I have is my inability to walk due to sciatica and a very bad knee. I can hopefully start swimming again next week as soon as the last incision is completely closed over.
So, well on the road to a healthy me! Such a wonderful thing I have done!
Congratulations! Don't let that idiotic dietitian bring you down.

Sounds like an overall great visit... since when is it a problem to lose too much weight right after WLS? We had this because we have plenty to spare. :)

Oh, she meant that I lost less weight than they expected... Between 4 and 5 pounds at my 2-week checkup.
Chili is very mashable, was my first post-op "real food," and is a still a favorite especially when seeing it on a menu in a cafe (never met a bad cup of chili). NatureMade B12 sublinguals melt easy and fast--good choice but beware they come in more than one potency. I'll be listening for a western wind carrying your cheers when Lovenox shots are over.
