Good morning Daisy and the bestest menu gang on earth. I am actually posting at a relatively decent time this morning.  I have back-to-back meetings all day today, so not a bit of spare time to post later.

Slowly returning to normal routine after the meet up.  Yesterday was one of those super productive days: work, got car serviced, flu shot, renewed transit pass, arranged to have roof replaced, paid bills, visited my Dad and went grocery shopping.  I always feel so energized when I have days like that.  After work tonight I have to do laundry and do something with the bumper crop of tomatoes I came home to.  I think I will make more sauce and a batch of soup for a friend.

QOTD: I would tell newbies to relax and enjoy the ride.  Don't put artificial date goals on your weight loss.  Your body is going to do what it is going to do, and you will likely lose in bursts followed by plateaus.  Stay on plan, measure and weigh everything and the weight will come off. It just won't happen overnight, or nearly as fast as you want it to. But it will come off if you follow the rules.

weight: 137

Time Since Surgery: 22 months

B: Egg Beaters, mozzarella and bacon omelette

S: Oikos Greek Yogurt

Have a great day, and happy first day of Fall!

We kind of are the "Bestest Menu Gang on Earth" yup I like that, has a good ring to it!

Wow you had a busy day yesterday!  I love those days when you come home and feel so accomplished!!

Good answer MA, its true you can't put artificial goals on weight loss, and there are a ton of highs and lows and plateaus, its like a roller coaster, up and down, up and down, thrilling and scary at the same time!  True on the weight won't happen over night, it will come off just have to follow the rules - best advice ever!!!

Thanks MA for being a part of our menu family!!  Nice number there girl 137 lbs!!!! Keep up the awesome work!!!

Happy First Day of Fall to you as well, bring on the sweaters, leggings (b/c I know you got a lot LOL) and knee high boots!

I am rich in leggings!  I put on the fleece lined ones I bought in Ithaca, after I got home last night.  I almost wept in happiness, because they are so soft and cozy.  Love them!

Good Morning! I love this pic of you and the babies! Tell Arun congrats and that I'll be cheering him and the team on from CA. Did you go to the game after all?

QOTD: I have to agree about OH, between this site (and this group esp.) and my local support group I would be lost at times. I have a very supportive husband but it helps to discuss/talk with people who have been or are going through it.

Time since surgery: 25 months

B: SF latte, egg beaters with shredded cheese, 2 turkey sausage links

L: Bananas and cream protein shake with powdered PB2 with chocolate

S: SF latte, Carbmaster yogurt, and pork rinds

D: Tuna melt (1/2 can albacore tuna, and Swiss cheese in ½ a protein up flat out) and SF pudding in a baked wonton wrapper

E: 45 mins stationary stepper this morning and elliptical at lunch

V/W: On track

Totals: Cals:1051 Protein:130 Carbs:73 Fat:26

Have a great one!

I need me some PB2... I have the banana shakes, and every time I read about adding PB2 to it, my mouth waters!

PB2 and wonton wrappers... must.get.these.

Thanks!  I will for sure tell hubby you are cheering him on from Sunny CA! He will love that!  I didn't go to the game no, took the dogs for an extra long hike instead.

I totally agree with you about support. I have a super supportive husband as well but there are certain things he just can't relate to as he never had surgery.  It is easier to talk to all of you about certain things b/c you all get it!  I am glad you have a good local support group too, that is wonderful!

You know for some reason I don't like tuna warm? I have never liked tuna melts. You know I LOVE tuna, but I can't eat it warm.

So glad you are part of our menu family, keep being awesome girl!

Thanks for getting us started Daisy. And congrats to Arun -- both for his win and for the Jays passing the hated Orioles in the wildcard. It will be a pleasure beating youse in the playoffs.

QOTD: I can't do just one thing. Three things is the minimum for anything, just like a stool. One thing or two gets tippy.

  1. Kitchen scale and a free MFP account. Log every bite. Know how much you eat. Exactly how much. No guessing.
  2. Keep the activity level up. A Fitbit helps tremendously to keep my activity from spiraling downward.
  3. Come to OH every day. EVERY DAY. Stay accountable. Not just on the good days, when it's easy. The bad days is when we need it most.

Seriously Grim the amount of chatter in my house from hubby about baseball between the Jays and his team I might need to move out to get a quiet moment LOL LOL  Sadly for us I know you are going to crush us in the playoffs, but yes passing the Orioles felt good!!

Your rule of 3 is AWESOME!!!  I could not agree more!!  A scale is cheap, MFP is free, walking is free and creating an account on OH is free so there really is a tiny cost associated with keeping up with your "Rule of 3."

Thanks Grim for being a part of our menu family. Your insight, humor, and success is so inspiring.

GO JAYS GO!

Driving downtown yesterday all I could see was a wall of Blue Jays shirts. Not a Mariner jersey in sight.
