Completely Overwhelmed by Vitamins and medicines
Don't take Flintstones. You won't dump on them but you need an adult multi and you need two a day. That's what the ASMBS says.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
Flintstones, gummies, and any children's vitamins are crap. They are missing a great many things.
Why do adults give Flintstones to their kids? Because they seem like candy, and fun. We trick kids into taking them. They aren't great, but hey, they're better than nothing.
Programs recommend them because far too many people stop taking vitamins altogether. So they figure, hey, they're like candy, and fun. Maybe they can trick us into taking them. Because they aren't good, but maybe they're better than nothing.
All of this gets easier. You'll figure it out. You might also think about switching to PatchMD for your vitamins. It will make life a little easier.

I had to switch to the patches pretty quickly. The bariatric advantage chewables my center sold made me nauseous and I wasn't willing to waste money on other brands. I love the patches, quick and easy. My center has never asked what type of vits I take and my levels are good, so in my opinion all is well.

A friendly suggestion to ask more than one of your medical professional before starting or changing anything. I think it's important to consult them first. For example, I asked about the patches, know the patch question was discussed between them, and got a response they preferred me to wait until there was more data findings re the patch. Although I respect the positive feedback on patches found here on OH, I try to follow my medical team's instructions first and foremost.
I bought the Opurity vitamins and calcium chews for the beginning because they seem like very high quality vitamins. Pricey though. I figure I can always switch once I get going. I don't have to take anything until after my 2-week followup, which is tomorrow. You should see the list I have for my surgeon ;)
