Fullness
Hey buddy! Somene here posted (Maybe CathyV) that she can only recently tell if she is full. I get a big distended place in my belly but only about 30 minutes after eating. No feeling of fullness. My nurse's advice was to stick to 1/4-1/3 cup of anything until I can feel whether I am full.
The nerves in your stomach were cut when you had surgery. Until you heal up, you will not feel any sensation of fullness in your pouch. That is why it is very important to follow the guidelines set down by your surgeon. As you heal, you will start to feel the restriction, it just takes some time for the nerves to start sending the signals again.
Hmm today for lunch I made a shake in the bullet with ice. I drank the whole thing as it was delicious. I was full all afternoon afterwards. I just ate a 1/4 cup of crm of mushroom soup. I could have had more but thought it bset to stop after the big shake earlier.

My advice-- quit chasing the full feeling. Once you feel it, it's easier and easier to push the envelope and you will eventually be eating more. Aim for satisfied.
Early on I would often try and belch-- not being able to was a sign to me there was no air(space) in my tummy- hence I'd had enough.

Full hurts. Don't go for full. When you get to solids and you accidently overeat, (which is full), it hurts like you somehow swallowed a rock. Measure and eat to measure, believe me, you will not starve to death. If you can identify the satisfied feeling now, it will help you later when you get to solids. Sometimes a single egg is too much and that's okay. Sometimes you might be able to eat a whole egg and a strip of turkey bacon (my only real craving when I was in the puree stage). Most of the time, I'm happy now with one egg and a bit of said bacon crumbled over top for the salt/flavor.
I recently decided to try a half of a very skinny slice of toast on Sunday as I'm nearly a year out. Nope, not a good feeling at all. I wasn't sick, but I sure didn't feel good and about two hours later, I had to lay down for a nap, the carb crash hit me so hard. A small experiment which means I have no desires at this point to go back to carbs. It just isn't worth it.
Learning to eat again will take time and some trial and error. And there is no reason to rush anything.
