What is on your Tuesday Menu RNYers?
Well I don't even know IF I will actually be able to get anything done. It will all be self pay, so it will tough to swing. I just wanted to see what a few surgeon's would say about certain areas etc. My husband tells me it will happen, but I am not getting my hopes up.
I feel you on the difficulty on the favorite food now. I'm interested in hearing about what you learned on the plastics consult. I am getting close to ready for it, but they recommend weight stable for 6 months, so I have to wait a bit. Could you send a private message to me if you have info that you want to share? Thanks.

I couldn't even manage to get on and post in the early part of the day yesterday, but I did scroll through the posts. I am not sure what my favorite food is, but I guess shrimp. I am actually afraid that I may be eating too much in the seafood, shellfish department and need to eat more steak and chicken. I did have some steak on Friday night though. And chicken last night. Favorite foods that I no longer eat are pasta and ice cream, maybe pizza. I need some new favorites too. I think I really tried to sort of divorce myself from the thought of food as a source of pleasure just before my surgery. Don't get me wrong, I love to eat out and socialize around food, but the food isn't the important part (as demonstrated by the group getting together for dinner in New York). I try to see food as fuel now.
I love your menu. I feel like I eat shrimp and fish a lot in the same day.
B: Premier protein
L: Going out with a friend, not sure where, but it will probably be shrimp and some salad
D: I was planning on shrimp, darn it. I guess it is my favorite food. Maybe I will have chicken lettuce wraps instead, depending on what happens at lunch.
S: Cheese wedge and crackers.
Have a great day everyone. I will have to continue reading later.

QOTD: My absolute favorite is eggs--
M1: 3 turkey sausage, one slice cceese
M2: greek yogurt w/ granola
M3: 2 chicken wings, 1/4 mashed sweet potato
M4: ribeye & broccoli
M5: 2 chicken wings (trying to add a hint of protein after my workout like the dietitian recommended.)
5'6.5" High weight:337 Lowest weight:193/31 BMI: Goal: 195-205/31-32 BMI
QOTD: I love Greek yogurt with fresh berries on top, esp if it's my homemade vanilla Greek yogurt (I use vanilla bean paste) - but even a lot of store bought yogurts are good! I also love grilled fish with a tasty sauce (currently into miso sauce). I also make gumbo sometimes (without rice) and love that, too!
B: Greek yogurt with added protein powder and 2 T oats, blueberries & aronia berries (aronia berries are NOT one of my favorite foods - thank God they're almost gone...(I'm too cheap to dump the rest of them out))
S: coffee with half & half. May have a protein shake later if I'm low.
L: 2 whole grain crackers with 0.5 oz Brie, Greek yogurt with added protein powder, cherry tomatoes
D: pulled pork and 1/2 C Chinese salad
Good morning! Long post to read through today. Luckily I am a lazy slob recovering from surgery so I have all day to read.
QOTD currently I love cottage cheese covered with pepper and little bit of banana on the side. I was not really a fan of either before surgery. Most everything else smells bad to me right now.
B: Banana Cream protein shake, Fairlife wth coffee ;)
L: refried beans with cheese and hot sauce
D: cottage cheese with pepper, maybe banana
S: maybe sf chocolate pudding with cottage cheese
Totals: 528 cals, 63 protein 51 carbs 10 fat
PS little scared by the post about CathyVs calorie totals. I could easily get my totals up to 800-900 with all the carbs I have been eating. And the dietician at the hospital said my job is to get to 1100 calories a day MINIMUM as soon as possible. I already know that is BS, but at 550 calories a day I have absolutely no energy. One day I got over 650 and I felt so much better...
Maybe if you cut down on the carbs and replace it with protein it'll help you feel better and keep your calorie counts lower? Of course, that's dependent on what you can eat of course being freshly out of surgery.
I try not to talk to my NUT... I've not been asked to see her again since surgery, but she did call me because my protein levels were low. I agreed to up my protein - but I already knew they'd be low because of my persnickety pouch and how I STILL can't get enough dense proteins down.
I still do 2 shakes on occasion depending on my levels at the end of the day...
