Last night's sleep study
So I had my sleep study last night. I can't tell how I did. I know that I woke up at least 3 times. The wires on my legs kept coming off and it would wake me up. They said it will take up to 2 weeks for the results. I'm kinda back and forth on how I want it to come out. On one hand I want to have apnea because that would give me the reason for my awful sleep. On the other, I'm really not wanting it cause I'm claustrophobic when it comes to my face and feel like I will have a problem with the CPAP mask. I have a feeling I'm going to be on edge for the next couple of weeks till I find out.
Not to worry! I am extremely claustrophobic and have slept great every night since finding my right mask back in 2007. I tried many different masks before I found THE one. I found that I was only comfortable and non-claustrophobic using a nasal pillow type mask. My mask is the Paykel Fisher Opus 360.

lucky you for waking up three times... I had two separate sleep studies because I never was able to sleep... And when they finally got me to sleep for a bit I had a whopping 96.5 events per hour. I was afraid of having to wear a mask but I have a Resmed machine with nasal pillows. Honestly have never slept better in my life. Once I settle down I do not feel the mask at all. I sleep so well, am so refreshed when I wake up. Look forward to that! It is a huge blessing to finally know that you can actually sleep! They will have to tear my CPAP out of my cold dead hands
I used to have that problem. I still love sleep but have no desire to nap now. Well, okay post surgery those pain pills do make me a little nappy ;)
I am very claustrophobic and I sleep fine with my mask. My quality of sleep has improved 100% with the CPAP machine. I don't feel exhausted all the time and I no longer need to nap in the afternoon. My Doctor had to talk me into the machine and I am so glad that she did, made a huge difference in my life. Hope all goes well for you.
