today I woke up with the idea in my head I'm going to work out and really make N effort in drinking that nasty protein shake. And I did, I also tried other food and don't eat more thN 2 oz mostly bc I'm afraid of dumping. How bad you can dump is pretty scary, so I tried to avoid eating A lot of anything with fat. The second day after my surgery I was terribly sick I was unable to keep any liquids down I would throw ever.....ything up and that was all day and night. I was however able to take a few ice chips which helped with my dry throat. From the nausea and vomiting, which is quite painful after surgery, I'm not trying to feel like that for a long time. I'm able to tolerate water now and broth. The liquid pain medication is a little though on my stomach I can feel it going down and hitting my stomache. Now I'm going on to week 2 and I believe it's more puréed liquid foods. Let see how that goes? Anyone know of some good foods for week 2 post op ?????

Hi, glad to hear you made it.  Did they say you can eat food this early out?  I'm still in the hospital and I am on shakes only.  When I go home I can do broth, yogurt but no pureed foods yet.  Take it slow you don't want to make yourself sick.

Hi! I'm mid week 2 I've really liked sugar free instant oatmeal made with simply smart skim milk. I cook it extra long in the microwave (2 min longer) It's really thick, then thin it out with sugar free coffee mate. Yummy. I am at 2 Oz puree per meal as well.

Yup refried beans wonderful.  Eggface ricotta bake wonderful.  Cottage cheese wonderful.  I even made sf chocolate pudding with cottage cheese and fairlife protein milk and some banana.  Amazing!  Good luck.  I also had a lot of nausea in the beginning, it was awful.

As long as your surgeon is on board for me I used really moist scrambled eggs.  I also did smoothies with the protein powder and fruit with NO SEEDS or a small  spoon of peanut butter.

Take it slow only one new thing at a time and see how it goes.  Your surgeons office should have some great ideas as well.

Welcome
