Food Amounts - RNY
I'm on week 2 of puree, just advanced to 2oz of puree/meal. They gave me plastic medicine cups to use for measuring. Week 3 will be 3 oz , week 4--> 4 oz. Then I meet with the Dietician to see if I'm permitted to advance to soft. I'm having some head hunger, but not real hunger. I have no sensation of any fullness at all, but that will come.
We're all on the same journey, but taking different paths to get there!
Hello All!
It seems that after surgery, our surgeons/clinics put us all on such varied diets. I find myself saying, "But, she had her surgery the day after me and is already having (fill in the blank)." My clinic has a "full fluid" diet for the first 2 weeks after surgery. Thank goodness, mine is over on Thursday. I'm already dreaming of refried beans, cheese, eggs, etc. After subsiding on protein shakes, SF pudding with PB2, milk, applesauce, Greek yogurt and pureed soups.
Here is a link to the full fluid diet from my clinic for those interested: http://mymountainmatrix.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/KMBT2 5020151013160340.pdf
Has anyone tried Eggface's Ricotta Bake?
Shelly's Ricotta Bake
8 oz of Ricotta Cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1 large Egg, beaten
1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
salt & pepper to taste
1/2 cup Marinara Sauce
1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave.
