I Gained 4 Pounds
LOL.
I was laying in bed this morning thinking about that gain. Here are the NSVs:
I am off insulin. Completely.
I am off metfomin.
I am off my blood prssure meds.
I am off my diuretic.
So many victories already...
WOW - with all the good happening, you know the surgery is doing its job. FInd a new hobby to keep you enjoyably filling up all that time that used to be devoted to food. Please post in a month and let us know where you are.
I lost 10-12 pounds a month, and a year later - WaLa - 120 pounds off. At first I was disappointed because my friend lost 30 pounds the first month and I thought something was wrong - no, she was just had a different metabolism.
The new interests are important - I joined a hiking club and spent at least one day a month on the AT - App Trail. I'm still healing from plastics, but I am looking forward to getting back in the wilderness.

What are you using as your pre-op weight? You need to use a weight that is a few days pre-op or before you started the prep-op diet, not the weight from the morning of.
In either case, those missing lost pounds are in the bank and they will show up as a big loss some week.
Also, if your picture is accurate, you are in my age category and the older you are, the slower the weight comes off, but it will come off if you follow your surgeon's instructions.

I used my hour-before-surgery weight, of course! Which was almost naked and after nothing by mouth for 12 hours. I know it will come off. There is just a little part of me that always wants an immediate validation on any diet, and is ready to pass judgement on a fail.
I am off all six of my meds pre-surgery, so that is huge. And I am 57... You are correct, the weight does not fall off like it used to. Hopefully this time it will not pile back on.
That was not a valid weight to start from. Are you down from when you started your pre-op diet (that was mostly water loss)?
Yes, keeping it off is the challenge - there are many long=timers who put the effort into keeping it off and are having success - but WLS is not a magic bullet.
