Omental infarct
Last week I had sudden onset (5 min from I think it's gas to I think I'm dying) pain. To the ER. Diagnosed with Omentum Infarct. - 2 children, broken bones , surgeries. Nothing compared to this pain. Had second episode this week- no surgery needed, rest and NSAIDS ( which I can't take) is treatment. Anyone else been thru this? Feel like I'm living in fear of another episode Ugh
Huh?
6'3" tall, male.
Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.
M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.
Obesity. Recent surgery. Strenuous activity are risk factors Omentum is fatty sheath covering and organs like a curtain- Doctor figured from my weight loss I have areas of sagging in my omentum - torsion (twisted) and cuts off blood supply and that area dies (infarct). Painful.
I'm sorry you are going through this. Hopefully they can treat you somehow that will work for you since you can't take NSAIDs

I have a friend who experienced this, and it was truly awful. I am sorry you are experiencing this, and hope you do not have another episode.
How long before your friend felt better. Had second episode 4 days ago- back to ER. Sucked Ready to feel better

If I remember right, she was in the hospital for about 10 days, for one incident. She did not have multiple incidents. I remember, though, how truly painful it was for her. Very hard.
