10+ yrs post-op
I had my Roux-en-Y gastric bypass November 2003. My starting weight was 299 pounds I lost 130 pounds putting me down to 169. I went from a woman's size 28 down to misses size 8. I had a tummy tuck done once I lost hundred pounds and the doctor to remove 13 pounds of loose skin. Over the past four years I am now up to a size 14 and I weigh 225 pounds I am totally disgusted with myself that I let myself gain weight back. I cannot wrap my head around getting back on the correct diet that I should be, and I have had so many problems since gain the weight back. I was type two diabetic before my surgery, it went away due to the weight loss. But now with the weight gain I have developed symptoms of hypoglycemia. Also I still have my gallbladder which I believe now is giving me issues. I guess reason I'm here is what I'm looking for support group to try to help me get my mind back right where it was when I first had this weight-loss surgery and try to get myself back on track.
Hugs.. Regains happen. To the best of us. A few bites here and there... And the weight is just piling up...one lb at a time...
Going back to a basic RNY eating plan: proteins then fat then some complex carbs (from veggies)
Losing regain is possible but it is often a much slower process that the original weight loss after WLS.
As for hypoglycemia - there are 2 types - one is simple hypoglycemia - the other is RH - reactive hypoglycemia...
Which one you are dealing with?

Don't think about going back on the correct diet. It is too soon and too overwhelming for that.
Start by buying a digital food scale. Weigh every single item you eat and measure every drop you drink. That includes water, soda, coffee, milk, etc. Don't change your current eating, just record all of it.
Do all of the recording in My Fitness Pal. When you have a month of data, contact me. I am a data analyst and use my skills to help people lose their regain. I don't charge money, I am retired and do it as a hobby.
I have to have data to analyze and the more accurate your data is the better I can help you. I hope to hear from you on October 15 with your data recorded in My Fitness Pal.
