It totally caught me off guard. I was already nervous to be there and then that! I have vented and now I am over it. But she is still a heifer!

OMG are you effing serious???????????? I am ready to come over there and throat punch her for you!  That is really really horrible.  And if I am reading your post correctly she is big too? (heifer of a doctor, which is really funny by the way).

Some things that come to mind that you could have said and make note some you can just say in your head it will make you feel better and some you can say out loud....

  1. "I guess at your Medical School that you went too you slept in and missed the "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything class"
  2. "Clearly you have a problem with my lose skin as you felt the need to say something like that out loud"
  3. "I have no problems with my lose skin, it represents the beautiful children I have the journey I have taken to be here where I am today, healthy and happy"
  4. "Wow you are super observant today, maybe we could concentrate on why I am here, MY MOLES, not my skin"

or my personal favourite

  1. "I may have a lot of loose skin but I can get plastic surgery and you will still be ugly"

You ARE BEAUTIFUL Daffodilgirl, don't let this person get you down.  So you ate your feelings now get back to your planned menu and keep kickin' some serious WLS butt.

I got ya girl!

I love the "I may have loose skin but I can get plastic surgery and you will still be ugly!"

Yes she was bigger. I seriously think that's why she made the comment. I am by no means anything to be jealous of but they seen me when I was 310 pounds. And when I went in it was like holy crapola!  The last time I went she was still observing for her full time position.

Like you said I am back on my planned menu and when I go back in two months, for more biopsies, I will look even better!!

I see a million different kind of doctors and the only one who shamed me about lose skin was a perky dermatologist. She said "surely you are going to get a tummy tuck" GRRRrr.  I changed dermatologists.

Good morning all.  I've been at work for a while but just got a chance to post.  My dairy ban is getting old and wearing on me.  I don't necessarily feel any better off of the cow juice, so I may reintroduce.  I found the caramel apple pie and pumpkin light and fit yogurt right before the ban started and I'm sad every time I open my refrigerator and see it starting at me.  I swear the little bowls of yogurt say "eat me" when I open the door.

KQOTD: The beach.  Without a question.  I was in Ventura and Santa Barbara this past weekend and spent time trying to figure out how to swing owning a house on the beach and still working at my firm.  Alas, I came up with no plan . . .  so here I sit.

My Plan:

B: sliced deli turkey (I miss my ground turkey with pesto)

L: Leftover turkey feta burger (with a side of lactaid)

D: Ribeye and either roasted brussels sprouts or roasted broccoli

S: Hardboiled egg; 1 oz almonds; somersaults; sugar free popsicle

This is subject to change.  I've been hungry the past few days, so may make some modifications. It is actually hunger, not head hunger so I need to figure it out.

Feel better friend, need to figure this out girl!!!

I think you need to get tested for food allergies.  Or maybe PM H.a.l.a she is such a wonderful wealth of info as she has been through so much with her surgery and food allergies/sensitives.  She might be able to help or point you in the right direction!

First time I got off the dairy - it took a week before my body got better - the way I say it "the gut gets pissed off when I introduce dairy- and let me have it"

3 years later - I can have a serving or 2 of hard cheese per week... but yogurt? or cottage cheese? god help me...

I had a few slices of cheese yesterday.  Today anything I eat gives me fits... cramps and discomfort.  but...I had some cheese on Monday also... way too much for my gut.

also check any vitamins for any SA or additives. That really makes my gut angry...like 3 days angry...

the way I understand - once we irritate the gut- and inflammations sets in - it may take a while for that to go away...(think any skin abrasion - it is fine unless you touch it or irritate it. )

When my gut is not happy - I need to baby it for a few days...and things like SF popsicle - with some of the acids and colors - they are  a no go...

when i am "appeasing the gut"- I would eat  very mild bland diet - chicken, cooked carrots, avocado, nuts - only as nut butters...

i hope you can find out what is bothering you.

Thank you!  I've been emailing with my surgeon discussing different theories and I have an appt. at the end of the month to see if we can come up with a solution.  I will take all of your suggestions to heart.  It just makes me sad, since I had zero food issues with my sleeve.  On the bright side, I'm still acid free, so that's something!

acid free is huge... but - if your body was making too much acid - that may have been a reaction to some food you had been eating...now -no acid - lack of digestion and your body is freaking out - it was used to high acid situation...

can you try to add 1 tbs of Apple cider vinegar in 1/2 cup of warm water a couple times a day?

or  some Kombucha?  I know that it really helps me...
