White Dove thank you! I just went searching online after reading your comment. I found Dr. Axe's bone broth protein powder 20g/serving ... it looks like they don't ship to Canada but I could rent a box at a UPS in the US and then drive it over. I looked beef bone broth up on MFP and it says 6g protein/cup. Whole Foods in Ottawa doesn't carry prepared bone broth like I know some do in the US. However, there is a local restaurant that served hot bone broth to skaters last winter during our outdoor winter festival, I'm going to call them and see if I can purchase some. Great idea!
The powder sounds like the best option for right after surgery. I made my own bone broth for years. The butchers used to just give bones away. Now you have to pay for them but it is still easy to make your own.
