My Journey @ 5 Years Out. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly!
Welp, I cant believe its been 5 years since my surgery. It seems like yesterday that I took that step. What is even more unbelievable is how truly far I feel I have come since then. How much has changed; how much has been done; how much has been learned. I have had a lot of trials and tribulations in this half a decade of re-learning life, and while not all good; it has truly been a blessing.
I have lost over 200lbs total, and after purposely gaining weight back, I have managed to keep off 180lbs. I will be 36 Years young this Friday
My journey hasn't been all Aces though.. I have had a failed marriage, lost my house, and subsequently lost a lot of friends along the way. These have been tough instances however the grass is greener! I have since met somebody else and am now engaged to a very wonderful, caring woman. I am 10 years into a very successful career in the Nuclear Power field, and I have been certified in Sports Nutrition and Personal Training only as a hobby. I have managed to become a Sponsored Athlete and I will be doing my first Physique show this April. But more importantly, I have learned how to appreciate life more. I have re-discovered religion along the way as well, and it has led me to learn a fair amount about how to cope with lifes nuances. All in all, I am BLESSED. And I felt compelled to share it with you folks that have helped me along my way!. Cheers and Enjoy the journey

What an amazing transformation.
It is hard on marriages when people change. My husband said to me one day, "You are not the person I married".
I said, "Thank you for saying that"
He said, "I did not mean that as a compliment"
I said, "I know, but I worked very hard to be the person I am today and not the person I was at 21".
Our marriage survived, but many do not. I am glad you found the person you are with now and that things are better.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
