What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Ugh...I'm sorry. I'm a pretty light sleeper and that probably would have woken me up too.
I am kinda afraid of heights. It bothers me to stand right up at the edge of my deck even though there is a rail there. But weirdly, I really want to go zip lining when I lose weight, lol.
Today I start mushy food! So far it has been kind of anticlimactic, lol. I dishes out 1/4 cup of scrambled eggs. I slowly ate them. I wasn't hungry when I started, and. I wasn't stuffed when I finished. Maybe 5 minutes later I did just feel very full...not stuffed, but just full. 45 minutes later I started my decaf. It was all very neutral. Not sure what to make of it!
Rest of the day's plans are to try some cottage cheese, maybe some ground beef since I'm making hamburgers for dinner, and to get a protein shake in. I have no totals yet...it was hard to plan since I didn't know how much I'd be able to eat.

I didn't get that "YOU'RE FULL" feeling for about 3 months after surgery, you are still healing and its sometimes hard to get that full feeling. Which is why your surgeon will give you set numbers most of the time, like 2oz of whatever, or 1 egg etc, so you dont overdo it with your healing pouch!
My doctor advised me to eat until satisfied. You should never try to get that stuffed feeling. I don't typically eat eggs (or didn't really much before WLS), but I remember that scrambled egg with cheese was the best meal ever when I came off the liquid stage.

I ate like complete crap this weekend: sausage rigatoni at Olive Garden, grilled cheese at the diner, and a cupcake at my kids' back to school party. It was bad.
And today is little better. I was so busy this weekend, I did not do my usual meal prep. I scrounged some bacon and eggs for breakfast, but did not pack my lunch or snacks. I have no idea what I am cooking for dinner. I ran to the phlebotomist this morning and nearly side swiped a car. I came back to work (at a school) and immediately had the fire alarm go off and I needed to make sure all the kids were cleared from the building. In two hours I have to pick up my children early for dentist appointments.
And frankly, I am just in a *****y whiny mood. Moving on...
QOTD: Afraid of heights, no, not really...I mean I make exceptions for exceptionally high or dangerous situations (like those crazy people that take selfies on top of the space needle), but in general, heights don't bother me. My husband, on the other hand, is petrified ;) We were on a cruise to Bermuda in June and he wanted to try the ropes course (suspended over the side of the ship over the ocean) for some kind of self therapy. I turned around on the course to take a pic of him and they made me climb down (you weren't supposed to have your phone on you.) He used that as an excuse to follow me off the course. I did get a great picture of him being brave though!

First of all, you need a day off. Second, you NEED to charge your fitbit because this activity definitely counts for steps. That is so funny, because I used to always tell my kids "unless you are bleeding or on fire, don't interrupt me" (when I was on the phone or talking to another adult). I am sure it didn't always work. I hope it works for you and you get your rest tonight.
So, my internet upgrade on Saturday morning turned into an entire weekend with no internet, landline phone, or TV. No idea when it will be up and running. Hoping for today, but I am not optimistic. Thank goodness my cell service is with another company, so I had some access to the internet, but it is not truly the same. While I definitely enjoy TV, I can go without it. My husband was jonesing for TV like a heroin addict. I on the other hand ran errands, did laundry, puttered about the house, cleaned up some stuff in the garage, went through stuff and collected things for my friend's cancer fundraising garage sale, and read my kindle. At the end of the night last night (I was already in bed-reading) I heard lots of rustling and weird noises upstairs and in the living room. My husband was hooking up an old DVR to the TV so he could watch a movie because the other DVR runs through the AT & T box. Of course, then he didn't know how to switch to that "source" and messed other things up. I came to the rescue and he got his fix and watched a movie.
I didn't have to be part of the regular first thing Monday morning today, so yeah for that. I still have meetings from 10-12, but after that I have the afternoon to work on all of my looming deadlines which are today. I am not working late because I am going to the gym with the trainer, so I better stop goofing around on here. My menu is the usual for Monday.
QOTD: No fear of heights, I love all types of thrill ride type things too. I love that feeling of weightlessness on roller coasters and things like that. I am envious of my daughter's upcoming bungee jumping in New Zealand. I am sure I would be nervous, but I would definitely do it.
Have a great day.

OMG AV I second your "I am so tired". I had a situation yesterday while out walking my dogs my husband and I experienced some nasty racism/prejudice and I had a really hard time sleeping last night. I have been awake since midnight devising ways on how to rid the world of these ugly racist people, safe to say I got nothing and I am just overtired and cranky today.
Think of the tight butt muscles and awesome quads you will have after this job is over!! YAY for nice legs girl! I hope you get to bed at a decent time and no one disturbs you!
QOTD: not a fan of heights. I can do it but don't like too, I need something to hold on to as well.
Wanted to take a minute and give a special shout out to our amazing Mamata2 (Nikki) who did the Ironman Wisconsin (IMWI) this past weekend. I am so PROUD OF YOU NIKKI! I hope you are home resting and go easy on your body!! I saw your post that you did not "finish" the race but let's get real here you don't need to cross a finish line or get a fancy medal to hang up to prove that you are amazing. You are a winner in my heart, Congrats on all your hard work! You are such an inspiration!
Also wanted to wish Supershopper (Hillary) good luck today on her Gallbladder surgery!
