Like sands through the hour glass... My magic months are slipping away

I dropped down during the amaw challenge and my appetite decreased as well .that was my second attempt at dropping calories as my dr lectures big time on getting in 1000.  I think I'll challenge myself to do all meat. I typically do 4 oz of meat with green veg or salad for lunches and dinner and meat and eggs for breakfast. I do measure and log my food. I'm going to lower the calories if you think 1000 is to many and give it a longer try .

I went for my 6 month post op today and seen both my surgeon and my NUT. She stressed the 2-3 oz of Protein first and then IF there's any room left 1-2 bites of veggies. She also said I should never feel full only satisfied.

I think you may be eating too much. We have to really use this honeymoon phase to our advantage. If it were me I would drop my calories and carbs. (But I am no doctor).

I hope you get this figured out and try not to get discouraged.

Are you sure you don't have PCOS?

Also, that fact that you lost during the all week meat challenge really is telling. Maybe you are carb sensitive. Maybe they dont satisfy you.

Dont get me wrong, I LOVE veggies and eat A LOT of them.  But maybe you should do one of those restriction diets the way they do with people with allegies.  Follow your all meat plan for ONE week.  The next week do the meats, but add in a non-starchy veg (like spinach/bell pepper) and cut back just a tad on the meat. See what happens. The next week do all meat, plus that veg that worked before and the CONDIMENT that goes with it (like tzaki) ...see what happens.  If you still lose..then progress to a different veg. If you gain, you could be lactose intolerant etc.

Something is either triggering your insulin/fat retention response or bloating you.  What we DO KNOW, it wasnt what you ate on all meat week, so it has to be something that you left behind.

Keep tracking those carbs AND calories.

I am sorry you have had such a hard time. It isnt because you arent trying or dont care.  There is something subtle with you that is holding you back and your surgeon and NUT dont seem too helpful.

I was insulin resistant and had pcos since I was around 15. My gynecologist had me on glucophage for a while until I lost weight from my lap band and got preggers with my twins, she said it seemed like it got rid of it .

What kind of rate do you lose at? It's good to know you still lose after being revised for over 1.5 out. I keep feeling , like peach pie said... My 6 month mark is the end and I'll be done

When I did the AMAW+C I lost 8lbs.  Now I think some of it was water weight because I really upped my water that week and kept my calories at 900 or under.  I felt full and wasn't really hungry by the end of the day.  When I stick 100% to plan I can lose 2-3lbs a week, but again my calories are low, protein high and tons of water.  But I don't stick to my plan like I should totally my fault.

Oh and I exercise 5 times a week either treadmill or dvd's.

I did the amaw and felt all cravings go away. No lbs on the scale but I fit into clothes that would not button at the start of the week. I'm really gonna challenge myself to do this again !

8 lbs is amazing !!

I have no problem with keeping each other accountable if you want to PM back and forth daily.  I need to get back to sticking to the plan 100% to get the rest of my weight off.  It can be done, but you have to work for it.

The other thing I logged every single thing into MFP and it really was an eye opener for me.

I've had a lot of work and personal issues for the last 5 months and I used those as excuses to be lax.  I wasn't eating bad things, but eating to much of the good.  Like grazing on beef jerky or pork rinds.  I have to stick to the three meals a day with one limited snack if needed.

I feel like I've been guilty of that as well, and with the same things.... Pork rinds and beef jerky. Also cheese. I got to really lower my calories and stick to my 3 meals also !
