What's on your Sunday menu RNYers?
Morning!
Fall is my favourite! Sweaters scarves, being outside in crisp weather! All of it. Except pumpkin spice anything. That's the worst hahah!
day 3 post op. I think I'm getting enough liquids in, and drank 1.5 containers of premiere protein. My worry now is that because I'm feeling so good, I don't want to over do it! Pain is mostly gone, a little discomfort occasionally from gas.
Ive been walking a lot. I know to avoid lifting anything over 10lbs, but can I get back to doing things around the house so long as there's no lifting? Starting to go a little stir crazy. I'll be speaking to the Bariatric clinic tomorrow, but I'm just curious what you all think. Should I keep laying low, and just walking, or can I start to resume some activities?
hopebyou all have a great Sunday!
I think you can start to do some things, but be careful and listen to your body. I was feeling fine, and then we had a very long and busy day last Thursday, and I've felt tired ever since. Laying low this weekend hoping to get some energy back. But I've been reading in the archives energy drops seem common...so maybe Thursday was just a coincidence, maybe I'd be feeling this way anyway!

By day 3 I had resumed housework and did anything that did not involve lifting 10 pounds. For example, I would put the clothes in the washer and have hubby lift the heavy bottle of laundry detergent. If it was now I would use detergent pods. He also took over running the vacuum which was a daily task with two cats in the house.
I started using the treadmill the day I got home from the hospital. Within the week I was driving to the mall and window shopping for the great looks I would buy when the weight was gone. By the end of a month I was walking 30 minutes daily.
My stamina and energy got better the more I did.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Oh my! Day 2 for me and I can barely move at all. I am holding my stomach when I walk but I could not imagine doing housework!
There isn't any reason you can't do somethings as long as there isn't lifting involved. Your body will let you know if it's too much. I did light housework like dusting and dishes almost as soon as I came home. If you're antsy now, wait until you have even more energy as weight comes off. Before weight loss my housework was never caught up as I was always exhausted but now hubby will tell me to sit down, take a break and relax and watch TV with him. Some days I could give the Energizer bunny a run for his money!
Do what you feel up to, As you do more, I am sure you will find you need rest in between....
