What's on your Saturday Menu, RNYers?
on 9/10/16 5:57 am
Quick post to get you all started, because in a few minutes Grim and I are starting our epic journey to NYC for a week.
No idea what what's on the road-trip menu, but Grim brought FOUR boxes of Quest bars, and I packed protein bars, beef jerky, nuts and Cheese Os. We are a prepared bunch, LOL. He keeps reminding me that they sell protein forward snacks in NY ;) Tonight we have reservations for a Steak House near the theater. Yum!
QOTD: Grim has been watching the 50th anniversary Star Trek marathon for days...haha. What's your favorite old TV show? If Golden Girls is considered old, then that's mine, but if we are going way back, I love the Dick Van Dyke Show, Bob Newhart Show and Mary Tyler Moore Show!
If someone else wants to start he post tomorrow that'd be great. I'll try to check back in with pics!

Good morning weekend peeps. Have a great time in NYC,JB. I'll be happy to start the post early in the am before I go up to church so I have time to get a post done. Immediately after church we are on the road and ready for some fun. I got all my annoying church paperwork done and turned in--our denomination LOVES forms. Every year for charge conference heads of committees have to meet and submit reports that ask you the same question 3 different ways. It's not enough that I volunteer to preach for my pastor when he's gone,I have to volunteer two days of time for training every 3 years and fill out paperwork on all of that too. But whatever--it's all done. Post op 4 years 2 weeks and weight at 117.2 today. Lily and I didn't get to walk early as it was raining but we will head out here when I finish my coffee and do our 3 plus miles. Food for today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz meatballs with sauce 1/2 c green beans D 31/2 oz pulled pork 1/2 c cauliflower S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar. Have a great day everyone and make some amazing choices! QOTD The Lone Ranger and most old time westerns. I still love them today because they remind me of the only grandpa I have memories of. He died from a sudden heart attack my freshman year in college. He was a very wise ,educated and patient man who was my father figure growing up. He HAD to be a saint to live with my grumpy negative Grandma! I still have found memories of sitting in his living room and watching westerns with him.
Happy Saturday Everyone!
Have a great vacation, JB and Grim!
QOTD: My daughter and I like watching reruns of Newhart and Boy Meets World.
I stayed pretty close to my menu from yesterday and still NO protein bars! I think I have successfully kicked them to the curb now!

Lunch: lettuce salad w/ tomatoes, bacon, cheese & low cal dressing
Dinner: Homemade burrito
Snack: Oiko's zero greek yogurt
Snack: Moon Cheese
Snack: Watermelon
Snack: Sugar-free pudding w/ cool whip
(I usually list 4 snacks, but typically only eat 2 of them).
Exercise: Walking the dogs.
Have a great weekend everyone!

QOTD: I haven't really watched TV in years, but over the last 3 or 4 years I've been getting the Dark Shadows DVDs from NetFlix. I watched that series as a kid and wanted to see it again - although I'm not exactly sure why. I also used to love the Saturday night line-up in the late 60s/early 70s - All in the Family, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart, etc.
15 months out
B: Greek yogurt with added protein powder, a few blackberries and aronia berries
S: coffee with half & half, probably another Greek yogurt
L: we're meeting friends at a "Seafood & Smokehouse" - so either grilled/baked/broiled fish or shrimp, or maybe pulled pork or chicken
D: chicken/peach/pecan salad
Have a great trip, JB -and yes, they do have stores with protein snacks in NYC!!
Morning JB- enjoy the Big Apple with Grim!!! Four boxes of quest bars- are y'all planning on doing a Gilligan's a island type adventure?? If you guys have time- take the ferry to staten island- you'll see the Statue of Liberty on the ride-- and I believe the ferry ride is free. It's a Nice day for it.
my run is done, but I think I'll take my Bike out today after it cools off a bit.
QOTD: little house in the Prarie is my my all time favorite TV Show. And I like older shows -- Mad about you, Seinfeld, Cosby Show, Roseanne, I love to watch reruns of these. I'm just getting into Modern Family.
