What's On Your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
Assuming QOTD is what did you do this weekend?
I did a BUTT LOAD of cooking: 2 roasted chickens for Saturday's meal, boston cream poke cake, ribs sunday, green beans, breakfast of eggs/sausage, apple steusel 'cake/bread pudding', beef jerky, oatmeal blueberry muffins, 'healthier oatmeal cookes', chocolate oatmeal cookies. I'm sure there was more. I was a pretty good girl and only had a tiny bite of the poke cake and a tiny bite of the 'healthy' cookie. I think i will make that kind again but add protein powder to get the protein number up.
I worked on straightening my office/craft room also. DH brought home the most amazing fabrics from his internship at the interior design place and now I need to make room and also had to break out the sewing machine! Which means i have to 'relearn' and get better at sewing. I think I'm going to be making custom fabric bracelets and pillows. These fabrics were like up to $80 a yard! so excited. I also designed some jewelry also and that was FUN!
Today is my pre op for my GB surgery Monday. have to drive 1 hour to the place around 12:30 today and then back.
Here is my menu yesterday

Hi there everyone! I feel like I've been away much longer than just a long weekend... I miss ya'll!
Ugh, I'm just EXHAUSTED! Hubby had that surgery last Wednesday, and since then he can't even wipe his own butt, sleep in our bed, reach anything above shoulder height, take a shower alone (again, that butt that needs cleaning), cook, do laundry, feed the dogs, or ANYTHING else it seems. A nurse I am not meant to be. I say all of this as a vent, because I know this won't last forever, but I really need a good UNINTERRUPTED night of sleep. He was getting constipated from the pain meds so our last resort (after a few days of miralax) was a bottle of magnesium Citrate. It became comical... getting him to the toilet, removing the girdle type binder he's wearing, both on top and bottom at this point, getting him sat down... cleaned up... re-dressed... only to do it all over again 15 minutes later...The dogs are confused. I'm sleeping on the loveseat so I can hear him if he needs something... so the dogs aren't sleeping well... which means their rotten butts are asking to go outside at 2, 3 and 4 in the morning... I'm done. Stick a fork in me... and if I ever have a bright idea of going to nursing school, please spank me... and do it hard!
I'm craving meat... beef and bacon to be exact. I think that with the way my little persnickety pouch was for the first 3 months, I'm just happy to be able to eat again... so yesterday I cooked up a bunch of bacon (packed up what the troops didn't eat), and made 2 steaks and portioned it out into 3 oz servings. Oh yes... and my protein levels at my 3 month appointment were really low 13.6. I must get that raised! So my menu today reflects my hard work yesterday! Meat baby... Yum!
B: lamb chop leftover and 2 pieces of bacon
L: 3oz steak
S: 3 oz steak
D: Not entirely sure, as we're driving back down to Dallas for hubby's one week check up appointment, but it'll be meat, because I can eat it, and I WANT it! hahaha!
S: Protein shake if I need more protein

I know you are doing an awesome job taking care of him. Uhg! So exhausting though. Just try to nap when you can. He should be better each day so this will pass. I am glad he has you!

Good morning AV! Good catch, and I guess this is the one day that would be good that you have insomnia. I hope that for the rest of the year you sleep like a baby until your alarm goes off. You deserve it!
My weekend was bad, food wise. I hosted a BBQ for my oldests birthday, and I made 3 cakes. Seriously, 3. Then my mom made a big pan of banana pudding with the Nilla wafers on it, so I had a scoop or two with my meal and then suffered for the rest of they day with horrible gas from lactose intolerance. It was super painful. I'm coming to realize that lactose isn't my friend. Or maybe it's lactose mixed with added sugar. But I rarely drink milk, or have anything with milk. I use dairy free creamer most days, and even if I go out and get a sugar free latte, it gives me gas.
Anyway, the party was a hit and my life is getting back to normal. My oldest started school today as a Junior. He's got a good schedule, and his last two hours are going to be spent at another school in a welding and metal fabrication class, which I think I'm just as excited about as he is.
My little one cried this morning when his brother left for school. I was just thinking about it this morning and my little will start school in 2 years in what they call the Eary 5 Kindergarten (they offer 2 years of Kindergarten here since they changed the start age to children turning 5 before September 1st.) Since his birthday is in November, he will start real kindergarten a year later. But my oldest will graduate in 2018, and then my youngest will start kindergarten that September. They will never be in grade school at the same time. Weird.
13 months since surgery
B: 1 egg, bacon, cheese on 1 slice of toast. Coffee with SF coffeemate
L: Turkey and cheese on half a flat out wrap.
D: Chicken breast with salsa and a salad with light dressing
S: light and fit greek crunch, turkey summer sausage with colby jack cheese. Quest protein shake with fresh blueberries as my evening snack, since I'm trying to avoid popcorn.

I'm really trying to plan a day that I eat exactly on plan, and I believe that this day is it. Kal and I are going to the library here shortly, but I'm packing lunch to take with us because we usually Kal falls asleep on the way home and doesn't actually get to eat lunch until 2pm or later. I need to plan properly so he can eat on a better schedule.
Have an awesome day everyone.
Milk is tough for me, too. I can eat yogurt, cheese, use half & half in my coffee, etc. with no problems, but if I even attempt to drink milk straight, I pay for it. But can I just say that I effing love that banana pudding with Nilla wafers. Mmmmmm... I haven't had that in forever!
